Technical validation of the Zeto wireless, dry electrode EEG system.

Clinical adoption of innovative EEG technology is contingent on the non-inferiority of the new devices relative to conventional ones. We present the four key results from testing the signal quality of Zeto's WR 19 EEG system against a conventional EEG system conducted on patients in a clinical setting.We performed 30 min simultaneous recordings using the Zeto WR 19 (zEEG) and a conventional clinical EEG system (cEEG) in a cohort of 15 patients.

Thick Ascending Limb Specific Inactivation of Myh9 and Myh10 Myosin Motors Results in Progressive Kidney Disease and Drives Sex-specific Cellular Adaptation in the Distal Nephron and Collecting Duct.

Our previous work established a role for actin associated myosin motor proteins MYH9 and MYH10 in the trafficking of thick ascending limb (TAL) specific cargoes, uromodulin (UMOD) and Na + K + 2Cl- cotransporter (NKCC2). Here, we have generated a TAL-specific Myh9&10 conditional knockout (Myh9&10 TAL-cKO) mouse model to determine the cell autonomous roles for MYH9&10 proteins in TAL cargo transport and to understand the consequence of TAL dysfunction in the adult kidney. Myh9&10 TAL-cKO mice develop progressive kidney disease with pathological tubular injury confirmed by histological changes, tubular injury markers, upregulation of ER stress/unfolded protein response pathway, and higher blood urea nitrogen and serum creatinine.

Simulation Training to Increase Holding of Fragile Infants in Cardiac Intensive Care Units.

Background: Promoting bonding and neurodevelopmental care is an important element in the cardiovascular intensive care unit (CICU); however, holding of infants by family members is inconsistently practiced.

Objectives: This quality improvement study aimed to safely increase the holding of medically complex infants in the CICU by developing a holding guideline and offering simulation-based staff education.

Methods: Using consensus methodology and high-fidelity simulation, an expert work group created a holding guideline and training to increase staff confidence and competence in holding critically ill infants in the CICU.

Background: Children have a right to participate in matters affecting their lives. With increasing regularity, children's perspectives are being sought regarding their health and health care experiences. Though there is evidence that children find play to be one of the 'best' aspects of hospitalisation, studies rarely focus on children's perspectives on play in hospital.

Clinical Course, Antifungal Susceptibility, and Genomic Sequencing of Trichophyton indotineae.

Importance: Trichophyton indotineae is an emerging dermatophyte causing outbreaks of extensive tinea infections often unresponsive to terbinafine. This species has been detected worldwide and in multiple US states, yet detailed US data on infections with T indotineae are sparse and could improve treatment practices and medical understanding of transmission.

Objective: To correlate clinical features of T indotineae infections with in vitro antifungal susceptibility testing results, squalene epoxidase gene sequence variations, and isolate relatedness using whole-genome sequencing.
