Peptide therapeutics are found to be an emerging and attractive class of treatment due to their highly specific and safe nature. Hence twenty plant peptides were subjected to screening by molecular docking against the envelope protein of the dengue virus using Clus Pro, Patch Dock, and HADDOCK servers. Physicochemical parameters, allergenicity, and toxicity profile of the plant peptides were estimated by Protparam analysis, AllergenFP, and ToxinPred web servers.

Introduction: Several months into the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, there remains a paucity of data on the behavior of the disease in patients with end-stage kidney disease (ESKD) on maintenance hemodialysis (MHD). Here, we describe the clinical presentations, biochemical profile, and outcomes of 183 such patients from a large tertiary-care center in South India.

Materials And Methods: This prospective, observational study, included all patients with COVID-19 and ESKD who received at least one session of hemodialysis at our center, from the start of the outbreak to July 9, 2020.

Background: The passive immunization of patients with SARS-CoV2 with convalescent plasma (CP) is theoretically beneficial in patients with end-stage renal disease who are immunosuppressed and unable to mount an adequate immune response. Hence, this study was conducted to evaluate the safety and efficacy of CP in patients with chronic kidney disease on hemodialysis with moderate-to-severe SARS-CoV2 infection.

Methods: A prospective observational cohort study was conducted in consecutive 68 moderate-to-severe SARS-CoV2 infected patients who were on maintenance hemodialysis or with acute worsening of chronic kidney disease which required initiation of hemodialysis.

Metabolic acidosis is known to have adverse consequences in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) including protein-energy wasting, inflammation, bone disease, and disturbance in endocrine function. Unlike in the management of patients with predialysis CKD, bicarbonate levels were not being routinely monitored in dialysis patients at our center. The KDOQI guidelines recommend serum bicarbonate levels ≥22 mEq/L in patients on dialysis.

An efficient gold-catalyzed synthetic protocol for the construction of 1,2-dihydro[c][2,7]naphthyridines from 2-aminophenyl prop-2-yn-1-yl enaminones has been developed. In this organic transformation new C-C and C-N bond formations occur via 6-endo-dig cyclization and condensation. 1,2-Dihydro[c][2,7]naphthyridine derivatives were obtained in good to excellent yields in a one-pot synthesis at ambient temperature.
