The prepared materials were examined as anode electrocatalysts for water-splitting systems in alkaline environments. Solid-state characterization methods, such as powder X-ray diffraction and X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS), were used to analyze the materials' crystallographic structure and surface characteristics.

LeBail refinement of pXRD data confirms that all compounds crystallize in the hexagonal centrosymmetric MgZn-type structure (P6/mmc, No. 194).
View Article and Find Full Text PDFPotassium hexavanadate (KVO·nHO) nanobelts have been synthesized by the LPE-IonEx method, which is dedicated to synthesis of transition metal oxide bronzes with controlled morphology and structure. The electrochemical performance of KVO·nHO as a cathode material for lithium-ion batteries has been evaluated. The KVO nanobelts demonstrated a high discharge capacity of 260 mAh g, and long-term cyclic stability up to 100 cycles at 1 A g.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFThe complex electrocatalytic performance of gold nanocubes (AuNCs) is the focus of this work. The faceted shapes of AuNCs and the individual assembly processes at the electrode surfaces define the heterogeneous conditions for the purpose of electrocatalytic processes. Topographic and electron imaging demonstrated slightly rounded AuNC (average of 38 nm) assemblies with sizes of ≤1 μm, where the dominating patterns are (111) and (200) crystallographic planes.
