Deciphering the enigma of human-lion coexistence in India.

Asiatic lions (Panthera leo leo) have increased in range and abundance in densely populated India, a rare example of coexistence between humans and large carnivores. We sought to determine the underlying mechanisms of this coexistence and to infer lessons that could help conserve carnivores in multiuse landscapes, globally. Using data collected from 2012 to 2017 from conflict-compensation records, we studied the spatiotemporal trends in human-lion conflict across the lion's range in India.

They can function as signaling molecules to orchestrate a well-defined response of plants to biotic stress. These responses are further fine-tuned by phytohormones, such as salicylic acid, jasmonic acid, and ethylene, to modulate immune response.

Seismic monitoring of 2020 Baghjan oil-well blowout incident in Assam, India.

Characterization of a productive oil/gas well blowout through seismological methods is relatively uncommon. In this paper, we conduct an in-depth seismic evaluation of one of the world's most significant onshore oil well blowout incidents, which occurred in 2020 at the Baghjan oil field in Assam, northeast India. We show that the blowout and related on-site activities generated distinct signals that can be distinguished by their spectral characteristics, temporal variation in geometric spreading, and sharp attenuation of daytime noise in comparison to the nighttime.

Mola carplet (Amblypharyngodon mola) is one of the most popular small fish species of the Indian subcontinent. There are limited studies on captive breeding of this species, which is important for aquaculture and the conservation prospects of this species. The conventional induced breeding method using an inducing agent (GnRHa and dopamine antagonist) is one of the most effective and prevalent methods of breeding fish.

The Local Heroes Project: a youth-led pan-India hyperlocal crisis relief model during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Introduction: There was shortage of essential diagnostic and therapeutic supplies in public hospitals during the second wave of COVID-19 in India.

Materials And Methods: The Local Heroes Project, a hyperlocal project initiated by the World Youth Heart Federation (WYHF). Pilot project was conducted in six cities, and a nationwide project was scaled up to 58 city groups with 438 volunteers.
