Unspecific peroxygenases (UPOs) catalyze the selective oxygenation of organic substrates using only hydrogen peroxide as the external oxidant. The PaDa-I variant of the UPO from Agrocybe aegerita catalyses the oxidation of Z- and E-allylic alcohols with complementary selectivity, giving epoxide and carboxylic acid/aldehyde products respectively. Both reactions can be performed on preparative scale with isolated yields up to 80 %, and the epoxidations proceed with excellent enantioselectivity (>99 % ee).

Solubilized enzyme activity is very difficult to achieve because the polymerization of highly hydrophilic substrates into hydrophobic polymers requires a polar/non-polar interface and a hydrophobic compartment. Using guayule () as a model rubber-producing species, we optimized methods to isolate RP unilamellear membranes and then a subset of membrane microdomains (detergent-resistant membranes) likely to contain protein complexes such as RTase.

This study reports the chemical composition of several brands of nitrile gloves via FTIR and solid-state NMR analysis and relates composition to glove durability (found via GAD), mechanical performance (found via Instron), and whether the gloves meet or fail ASTM International standards. Out of the four nitrile examination glove brands tested, American Nitrile Slate brand had superior durability results and was found to be made of acrylonitrile butadiene rubber, as expected.

University students represent a population both at a higher risk of experiencing poor mental health and diagnosis and a population with relatively greater access and communication of both mental health literacy resources and mental health support services. Despite this, we consistently see low intention of help-seeking for mental health services or health services, with a clear preference shown for personal contacts such as friends or parents.
