Variability in Kidney Cancer Treatment and Survival in England: Results of a National Cohort Study.

Aims: To establish whether there are geographic differences in treatments and outcomes for patients with kidney cancer (KC) in England which could potentially be improved by the creation of national guidelines.

Materials And Methods: A multidisciplinary group convened by the charity Kidney Cancer UK developed Quality Performance Indicators (QPIs) for the treatment of KC. Adherence to these QPIs was reported for all patients with a histological diagnosis of KC diagnosed in England between 2017 and 2018.

Standard Versus Modified Ipilimumab, in Combination With Nivolumab, in Advanced Renal Cell Carcinoma: A Randomized Phase II Trial (PRISM).

Purpose: Ipilimumab (IPI), in combination with nivolumab (NIVO), is an approved frontline treatment option for patients with intermediate- or poor-risk advanced renal cell carcinoma (aRCC). We conducted a randomized phase II trial to evaluate whether administering IPI once every 12 weeks (modified), instead of once every 3 weeks (standard), in combination with NIVO, is associated with a favorable toxicity profile.

Methods: Treatment-naïve patients with clear-cell aRCC were randomly assigned 2:1 to receive four doses of modified or standard IPI, 1 mg/kg, in combination with NIVO (3 mg/kg).

Single-Fraction Stereotactic Ablative Body Radiotherapy for Primary and Extracranial Oligometastatic Cancers.

Stereotactic ablative body radiotherapy (SABR) consists of delivering high doses of ionising radiation, typically across three to eight fractions with high precision and conformity. SABR has become increasingly commonplace throughout the last quarter of a century and is offered for the treatment of various primary and metastatic tumour types. Delivering SABR in a single fraction has arisen as an appealing possibility for several reasons.

A Study of Pazopanib Safety and Efficacy in Patients With Advanced Clear Cell Renal Cell Carcinoma and ECOG Performance Status 2 (Pazo2): An Open label, Multicentre, Single Arm, Phase II Trial.

Aim: Patients with advanced renal cell carcinoma and poor performance status (PS≥2) are often deemed unsuitable for treatment. The Pazo2 trial aimed to assess tolerability and efficacy of pazopanib as first-line treatment in renal cancer patients with ECOG PS2.

Methods: Pazo2 was a prospective, single arm, open label, multicentre, phase II trial, conducted in 26 UK centres.
