Background: Current nursing and midwifery rosters are based on guidelines which may no longer adequately meet the needs of health services or staff and often result in decreased job satisfaction, poor health and wellbeing, and high turnover. Little is known about the rostering needs and preferences of contemporary nurses and midwives in Australia. The aim of this study was to identify the rostering concerns, needs and preferences of nurses and midwives, and co-design acceptable, equitable and feasible rostering principles.

Surgery remains the mainstay of cholesteatoma management. Through advancement in technique and technology, the available surgical approaches have expanded to include not only the traditional procedures, but also endoscopic procedures, canal wall reconstruction procedures, mastoid obliteration, and retrograde mastoidotomy. Selection of management technique will depend on disease characteristics, patient factors, and surgeon preference.

Objective: This report describes a case of sarcoidosis that presented as a lytic bone lesion in the squamous part of the temporal bone.

Patients: A 64-year-old woman presented with right-sided aural fullness, pulsatile tinnitus, and intermittent otalgia.

Interventions: CT and MRI were performed without contrast and suggested an osseodestructive, lytic bone lesion.

Shin pain in athletes.

Background: Both serious athletes and patients attempting to maintain or improve their health through exercise are at risk of a number of conditions that are not frequently mentioned during medical training. Most of these are related to overuse.

Objective: The aim of this article is to improve general practitioners' knowledge of a specific group of exercise-related conditions that occur in the anterior aspect of the lower limb below the knee, commonly referred to as the shin region.
