Aim: Time-restricted eating (TRE) limits the time for food intake to typically 6-10 h/day without other dietary restrictions. The aim of the RESET2 (the REStricted Eating Time in the treatment of type 2 diabetes) trial is to investigate the effects on glycaemic control (HbA) and the feasibility of a 1-year TRE intervention in individuals with overweight/obesity and type 2 diabetes. Methods And Analysis: Women with overweight or obesity (body mass index ≥25 kg/m², no upper limit), aged 20-45 years, living with HIV and in a low-resourced community, and receiving DTG-based ART for less than 2 years will be recruited from a community healthcare centre in Khayelitsha, Cape Town (n=152). Participants will be randomised 1:1 to the TRE group (n=76) or standard of care control group (n=76) for 12 months.

Background: Digital health lifestyle interventions (DHLI) may offer scalable solutions to manage prediabetes in clinical practice; however, their effectiveness on people with prediabetes has not been systematically investigated and reviewed. Hence, in this systematic review, meta-analysis, and meta-regression the effectiveness of DHLI on prediabetes-related outcomes was investigated.
Methods: Four databases were searched to identify randomized controlled trials investigating the effectiveness of DHLI on adults with prediabetes published before 23 February 2024.
The aim of this systematic review and meta-analysis was to examine the effects of plant-based diets on markers of insulin sensitivity in people with overweight/obesity, prediabetes, or type 2 diabetes (T2D). A systematic literature search in MEDLINE, Embase, CINAHL, and CENTRAL was conducted, and randomised controlled trials (RCTs) investigating the effect of plant-based diets (vegan, ovo-vegetarian, lacto-vegetarian, and lacto-ovo-vegetarian) for ≥14 d on markers of insulin sensitivity in adults (≥18 years) with BMI ≥ 25 kg/m, prediabetes, or T2D were eligible. We identified eight RCTs, including 716 participants.
