Degenerative changes in the spine lead to spinal cord compression, resulting in symptoms such as gait instability, loss of dexterity in the hands, weakness, and sensory deficits. Diagnosis is delayed by 2,2-6,3 years and includes clinical examination and imaging such as MRI.

Our initial pilot data suggested that the bed nucleus of the stria terminalis (BNST) could be a promising therapeutic target.
Objective: The aim of this study was to gather blinded data exploring the efficacy of applying DBS to the BNST in patients with highly refractory depression.
Knowledge related to how oncology treatment trial design influences enrollment of racial and ethnic minorities is limited. Rigorous identification of clinical trial design parameters that associate favorably with minority accrual provides educational opportunities for individuals interested in designing more representative treatment trials. We identified oncology trials with a minimum of 10 patients at an NCI-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center from 2010 to 2021.
