Parental Perceptions of Developmental Care Rounds in a Pediatric Heart Center.

Infants requiring surgery for congenital heart disease (CHD) are at an increased risk of neurodevelopmental delay. Developmental Care Rounds (DCR) have been implemented widely to support the neurodevelopment of children with CHD while admitted to the hospital. This study aims to describe caregiver perceptions of DCR at a quaternary academic children's heart center.

Do emergency Medicaid programs improve post-discharge health care access for trauma patients? A statewide mixed-methods study.

Background: Hospital presumptive eligibility (HPE) emergency Medicaid programs offset patient bills at hospitalization and can provide long-term Medicaid coverage. We characterized postdischarge outpatient health care utilization among HPE Medicaid trauma patients and identified patient access facilitators and barriers once newly insured. We hypothesized utilization would be increased among HPE trauma patients compared with other HPE patients, but that challenges in access to care would remain.

Introduction: In 2015, the FDA released a Drug Safety Communication regarding a possible link between opioid exposure during early pregnancy and an increased risk of fetal neural tube defects (NTDs). At the time, the indications for opioid use during pregnancy were not changed due to incomplete maternal toxicity data and limitations in human and animal studies. To assess these knowledge gaps, largescale animal studies are ongoing; however, state-of-the-art technologies have emerged as promising tools to assess otherwise non-standard endpoints.

Defining nurse-led models of care: Contemporary approaches to nursing.

Background: The evolving nature of nursing practice necessitates the development and implementation of contemporary models of care; however, inconsistent definitions hinder this. With the increasing demand for nurse-led models of care, it is crucial to establish a consistent understanding to ensure the efficacy of implemented models.

Aim: We aim to provide a working definition for nursing models of care, then using this, present the key features that nurse-led models of care should consider.
