Early-onset Fahr's disease with atypical presentation of hypoglycemia and headache and fatal outcome in a 16-year-old male: A case report.

Fahr's disease, also known as primary familial brain calcification, is a progressive neurological disorder that follows an autosomal dominant inheritance pattern, characterized by calcifications primarily located within the basal ganglia of the brain. This condition typically affects middle-aged individuals, who present with a combination of neurological and psychiatric symptoms; however, this case report discusses a 16-year-old male patient. The patient initially exhibited general signs of infection, including fever and jaundice, before developing specific neurological symptoms, which progressed to systemic encephalopathy characterized by altered consciousness, seizures, and hypoglycemia, necessitating his admission to the ICU.

Association of low serum 25-Hydroxy vitamin D [25(OH) d] with hepatic encephalopathy in patients with decompensated liver cirrhosis.

Background And Study Aims: The mechanism of hepatic encephalopathy is complex and has not been conclusively established. Recent studies support lower serum 25-Hydroxy Vitamin D [25(OH) D] levels in patients with hepatic encephalopathy. This study aimed to evaluate the association between serum 25(OH) D and hepatic encephalopathy in patients with decompensated cirrhosis of liver.

Judicious use of this therapy is important to ensure a continued supply is available for patients in need. The Saskatchewan IG Stewardship Program was initiated to monitor and reduce inappropriate IG use.

Analysis of Socio Demographic Risk Factors of Cervical Intraepithelial Neoplasia at Colposcopic Clinic in Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.

Cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) is a pre-malignant lesion of the cervix of uterus. Several risk factors increased the risk of developing CIN. Purpose of this study was to evaluate the socio-demographic risk factors related to CIN at our setting.

Relaparotomy after Cesarean Section: Experience in a Tertiary Referral Hospital.

This study was aimed at exploring the causes of relaparotomy following caesarean section. The surgical procedures performed during relaparotomy were also discussed. This was a prospective study conducted in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH), Mymensingh, Bangladesh from November 2020 to May 2021.
