Article Synopsis
  • The study introduces a new flow cytometry method for quantifying fluorescently tagged protein inclusions in Caenorhabditis elegans, a model organism for neurodegenerative diseases.
  • This technique allows unbiased and rapid enumeration of inclusions in whole worm lysate, making it useful for assessing the dynamics of aggregation during stress or aging.
  • The method facilitates the analysis of physicochemical properties of inclusions, potentially enhancing future research on genetic or chemical factors that influence protein aggregation.

Flow chambers are common tools used for studying thrombus formation in vitro. However, the use of such devices is not standardised and there is a large diversity among the flow chamber systems currently used, and also in the methods used for quantifying the thrombus development. It was the study objective to evaluate a new method for analysis and quantification of platelet thrombus formation that can facilitate comparison of results between research groups.
