Placement poverty has major implications for the future health and education workforce: a cross-sectional survey.

Objective'Placement poverty' refers to the financial burdens imposed upon students by the completion of mandatory professional placement. We aimed to identify the financial implications of mandatory professional placements on student wellbeing.MethodsA cross-sectional online survey (August 2023 to January 2024) completed during students' most recent professional placement in the final year of their degree.

Characterisation and quantification of phenolic, anthocyanidin and terpene species in plant foods and plant food-based complementary products with antioxidant and neuroprotective properties.

Phytochemicals, including phenolic compounds and terpenes, are of interest for the treatment and prevention of conditions with oxidative stress, inflammatory and neurodegenerative pathologies. Certain plant foods have shown beneficial effects for the brain; however, the specific phenolic and terpene species in these foods are unclear. The present study aimed to characterise and quantify the phenolic, anthocyanidin and terpene species in six plant foods (Queen Garnet plum (QGP, ); black pepper (BPF, ); clove (CF, ); elderberry (EF, ); lemon balm (LBF, ); and sage (SF, )) and six plant food-based complementary products (clove (CC), elderberry (EC), lemon balm (LBC), and sage (SC), plus two blends ( and lemon balm-rich, WC and R8)).

A Randomized Trial of Drug Route in Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrest.

Background: In patients with out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, the effectiveness of drugs such as epinephrine is highly time-dependent. An intraosseous route of drug administration may enable more rapid drug administration than an intravenous route; however, its effect on clinical outcomes is uncertain.

Methods: We conducted a multicenter, open-label, randomized trial across 11 emergency medical systems in the United Kingdom that involved adults in cardiac arrest for whom vascular access for drug administration was needed.

Manual wheelchair training approaches and intended training outcomes for adults who are new to wheelchair use: A scoping review.

Introduction: Wheelchair training is pivotal for safety, independence, and occupational engagement in the community, yet adults coming into wheelchair use often receive insufficient or untailored training. This research aimed to understand the range and type of manual wheelchair training approaches that exist for adults commencing wheelchair use.

Method: A systematic scoping review involved searching eight electronic databases and grey literature up to September 2023.

How do plant-based milks compare to cow's milk nutritionally? An audit of the plant-based milk products available in Australia.

Aim: This cross-sectional study aims to explore the nutritional composition, cost, country of origin and fortification status of plant-based milk products available for purchase in Illawarra supermarkets and make various comparisons between types of plant-based milks and cow's milk.

Methods: Plant-based milk information was collected from nutrition information panels on packaging and manufacturer websites. Product ingredient lists, including fortifiers, were analysed to estimate the nutrient composition of the identified plant-based milks, including nutrients beyond those listed by manufacturers.
