Article Synopsis
  • - The text discusses the importance of well-documented sleep datasets in analyzing sleep patterns and their relation to neuropsychiatric disorders, highlighting current limitations of low-density electrode arrays.
  • - It introduces a new open-access sleep dataset from 29 healthy adults, collected at the Montreal Neurological Institute, featuring high-density EEG data (83 electrodes) along with additional physiological recordings.
  • - This new dataset allows for detailed research into sleep physiology due to its high spatial resolution and is expected to aid in both sleep studies and comparisons with sleep pathologies, available at the provided DOI link.

Objective: Corticosteroids and adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) are the therapy of choice to treat infantile spasms. However, systematic studies about their use in other types of childhood epilepsies remain rare and ACTH can have serious side effects. This study compares the interictal epileptic activity (IEA) burden (% of electroencephalography (EEG) time with IEDs) in children with genetic drug-resistant epilepsy before and after a standardized treatment with pulsatile corticoid therapy (PCT).

We evaluated stress and burden in epilepsy patient caregivers in a pediatric neurology clinic. Caregivers of 102 children with epilepsy completed the Caregivers' Assessment of Difficulty Index and a questionnaire regarding caregiver sociocultural characteristics. A multiple linear regression statistical analysis found that caregiver burden was significantly increased for those who had a second child with a chronic disease, sole caregivers and for those with children with drug-resistant epilepsy.

Headache is a frequent comorbidity in patients with epilepsy. Data are sparse regarding the distribution of headache types in children with epilepsy (CWE). We aimed to assess the prevalence of primary headache types and their influence on health-related quality of life (QoL) in CWE.

Consistent efficacy is required for entomopathogenic nematodes to gain wider adoption as biocontrol agents. Recently, we demonstrated that when exposed to nematode pheromone blends, entomopathogenic nematodes showed increased dispersal, infectivity, and efficacy under laboratory and greenhouse conditions. Prior to this study, the impact of entomopathogenic nematode-pheromone combinations on field efficacy had yet to be studied.
