Introduction: Documentation templates supported the implementation of HIRAID, a validated framework that supports nurses in assessing and managing patients in emergency departments in rural Australia using a strategy informed by behavior change theory. The study aimed to determine whether the implementation of HIRAID improved the accuracy of nurses' documentation across a large rural health district.

Methods: A Quasi-experimental pre-post study design was conducted across 10 rural emergency departments between November 2020 and November 2021, with HIRAID implemented in February 2021.

A hydropersulfide-mediated hydrothiolation reaction of alkenes has been developed for C-S bond formation with Markovnikov selectivity. This new approach is a transition-metal-, additive-, and solvent-free reaction under mild conditions. The reaction is postulated to proceed by an ionic mechanism with the release of elemental sulfur based on our control experiments and density functional theory calculations.

Hydrogen gas (H) can be produced via entirely solar-driven photocatalytic water splitting (PWS). A promising set of organic materials for facilitating PWS are the so-called inverted singlet-triplet, INVEST, materials. Inversion of the singlet (S) and triplet (T) energies reduces the population of triplet states, which are otherwise destructive under photocatalytic conditions.

Article Synopsis
  • - This study explores how measuring fecal indicators in sewage can be combined with microbial risk assessments to establish safety thresholds for recreational waters potentially contaminated by sewage.
  • - Researchers examined the levels of norovirus (a reference pathogen) and HF183 (a fecal indicator) across various sewage system samples, finding differences in their concentrations depending on the sample location.
  • - The findings helped create risk-based thresholds for HF183, revealing that the safety levels vary depending on the type of sewage discharge, key for evaluating water quality for recreational use.

Introduction: Previous studies have demonstrated association of alopecia areata (AA) with anxiety and depression. However, few case-control studies have evaluated AA association with posttraumatic stress disorder and lifestyle factors, including alcohol use. We aimed to assess associations of AA with psychiatric disorders and lifestyle factors using a national database.
