Current state of APPE-readiness assessments in schools or colleges of pharmacy.

Objective: To determine components and assessments included in Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) readiness plans in United States Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) programs.
Methods: An electronic survey was emailed to the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy Laboratory Instructors Special Interest Group. Survey items included demographic information about the program, APPE-readiness plan implementation status and components.
Although the biomedical advancements in HIV treatment have improved the original prognosis of the illness, people living with HIV (PLHIV) continue to encounter psychosocial challenges that impact their quality of life (QoL), including HIV-stigma and social connectedness. The present study investigates how different types of HIV-related stigma, as per the Conceptual Model of Perceived Stigma, respectively relate to QoL in the context of social connectedness in PLHIV. A total of 213 PLHIV attending a tertiary HIV clinic in Sydney Australia, completed questionnaires assessing HIV-related stigma, social connectedness, and QoL.

The Interprofessional Education Collaborative's (IPEC's) core competencies are accreditation standards of most, if not all, healthcare professions (Interprofessional Education Collaborative Expert Panel [2016, Washington, DC: IPEC]). Limited literature exists on interprofessional (IP) learning outcomes in healthcare ethics; even fewer studies include debrief sessions. Interprofessional education (IPE) case discussion using web-based technology is a promising way to incorporate ethics content.

- This study aimed to assess the safety, effectiveness, and patient satisfaction of doxycycline sclerotherapy for treating aneurysmal bone cysts (ABCs) and unicameral bone cysts (UBCs).
- A total of 77 lesions were analyzed, with a 99% success rate in treatment and a low recurrence rate, as most patients reported significant pain relief and improved function after treatment.
- Overall, doxycycline sclerotherapy was found to be a safe and effective option for these conditions, with high patient satisfaction, indicating that most patients would choose the treatment again if necessary.
