Near-Complete Avipoxvirus Genome Assembled from Skin Lesions of Dead Eurasian Crane ().

Avian pox is a globally spread viral disease affecting a wide spectrum of wild and domesticated bird species. The disease is caused by a diverse group of large DNA viruses, namely, avipoxviruses (genus , family ). In this study, gross pathological examination and histopathological examination of skin lesions and several organs suggested acute poxvirus infection of a Eurasian crane (, Linnaeus, 1758).

Adenovirus (AdV) infection has been rarely documented in cats and other felids. Partial sequences of the hexon and fiber genes of a Hungarian feline adenovirus isolate (FeAdV isolate) showed a close relationship to human AdV (HAdV) type C1. Further molecular and biological characterization is reported here.

Perceptions and attitudes regarding robotic total hip arthroplasty: a patient stakeholder survey.

To describe the attitudes and preferences of patients pertaining to robotic-assisted total hip arthroplasty (RA-THA) with the long-term objective of designing a prospective randomized-controlled trial (RCT) to evaluate the efficacy of RA-THA compared to conventional technique. A cross-sectional survey of patients attending an outpatient high-volume academic arthroplasty clinic chosen was administered from December 2023 to May 2024. The survey comprised 31 items including patient demographic, patient reported factors of significance and perceptions surrounding RA-THA.

Investigating antimicrobial resistance genes in probiotic products for companion animals.

Introduction: One of the greatest challenges of our time is antimicrobial resistance, which could become the leading cause of death globally within a few decades. In the context of One Health, it is in the common interest to mitigate the global spread of antimicrobial resistance by seeking alternative solutions, alongside appropriate drug selection and responsible use. Probiotics offer a potential avenue to reduce antibiotic usage; however, there is a scarcity of research that examines commercial products in terms of carrying antimicrobial resistance genes (ARGs) involved in resistance development through microbial vectors.
