Background: The effects of early sport specialization on professional athletes' resilience in handling increased workloads and athletic success have not been fully described.
Hypothesis: National Basketball Association (NBA) players who were multisport athletes during high school would be able to withstand higher workloads with lower injury rates and have more athletic success compared with their single-sport peers.
Study Design: Descriptive epidemiology study.
Osteochondral and chondral injuries of the patellofemoral joint are common in active patients, and effective management requires a thorough physical and imaging evaluation, a detailed understanding of the unique anatomic and biomechanical joint properties contributing to these injuries, and an appropriate selection of treatment modality. Diagnosis of patellofemoral chondral injuries can be challenging, and differentiating between various causes of anterior knee pain is crucial to successful outcomes. Once identified, nonsurgical treatments including physical therapy, bracing, and injections are a mainstay of initial management.

In this work, we screened different electrophilic scaffolds against the human mitochondrial rhomboid PARL and found 4-oxo-β-lactams as submicromolar inhibitors. Multifaceted computations suggest explanations for the activity at the molecular scale and provide models of covalently bound complexes.

Here, we introduce several tools to help elucidate differences between cis (intramolecular) and trans (intermolecular) proteolytic processing and to evaluate inhibition of precursor M. We found that many mutations at the P1 position of the N-terminal autoprocessing site do not block cis autoprocessing but do inhibit trans processing.

Patients increasingly use social media platforms like YouTube to find healthcare information to help them make medical decisions. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the quality of YouTube videos providing information about ACL injuries and ACL surgery.
