A novel tetra-4-{()-[(8-aminonaphthalen-1-yl)imino]methyl}-2-methoxyphenol Co(ii) phthalocyanine (CoTANImMMPPc) was synthesized using a precursor protocol and characterized electroanalytical and spectroscopic techniques. The FT-IR spectra of the synthesized compounds showed significant peaks corresponding to the functional groups of the precursors and phthalocyanine (Pc) compound. The mass and NMR spectra confirmed the formation of the target precursor compounds.

A number of procedures have been developed for anatomic replacement of oesophagus of which thoracoscopic assisted gastric transposition has shown the best outcome in children. This demands an extensive pre-operative evaluation, preparation and anaesthetic management since this is challenging and prolonged procedure done under one lung ventilation (OLV).

A novel objective, pediatric-specific risk classification system based on Neurological, Airway, Respiratory, Cardiovascular, Other categories and Surgical Severity (NARCO-SS) has been validated in only one US center.
Objective: Independent external validation of the NARCO-SS and comparison with the ASA-PS in predicting perioperative outcomes.
Frontometaphyseal dysplasia (FMD), also called Gorlin-Cohen syndrome, is a rare hereditary X-linked dominant craniotubular bone disorder. The presentation describes the airway management of a 2-year-old child suffering from FMD with significant retrognathia, posted for major long bone corrective osteotomy. Induction with a combination of dexmedetomidine and ketamine preceded a successful endotracheal intubation under spontaneous ventilation.
