Using a systems thinking approach to map the global rise of ultra-processed foods in population diets.

A key driver of obesity and diet-related illness globally has been the increased consumption of ultra-processed foods (UPFs). This paper aimed to identify the key actors, structures, incentives, and dynamics that characterize the global UPF system and have led to the dominance of UPFs in population diets. Based on a narrative review and using a systems thinking approach, we developed a causal loop diagram (CLD) of the global UPF system.

The Genetic Profile of Combat Sport Athletes: A Systematic Review of Physiological, Psychological and Injury Risk Determinants.

This systematic review aims to assess the genetic determinants influencing combat sports performance and address potential gaps in previous reviews. Twenty-four selected studies were analysed, investigating genetic influences on physiological performance, psychological traits, psychophysiological factors like pain perception, and injury susceptibility in combat sport athletes. The systematic literature search, using keywords, encompassed PubMed, Scopus, SportDiscus, Medline, and Google Scholar.

Increasing Children's Vegetable Consumption: Translating a Review of the Evidence Base to Develop Best Practice Guidelines.

Introduction: Dietary guidelines worldwide emphasize the importance of consuming vegetables as part of a healthy diet. Despite this, translating this information into messages for consumers that change behavior has been difficult. There have been population-level social marketing campaigns as well as several smaller campaigns directed specifically toward children, which have demonstrated small increases in consumption.

Temperature-Dependent Conduction and Photoresponse in Few-Layer ReS.

The electrical behavior and the photoresponse of rhenium disulfide field-effect transistors (FETs) have been widely studied; however, only a few works have investigated the photocurrent as a function of temperature. In this paper, we perform the electrical characterization of few-layer ReS-based FETs with Cr-Au contacts over a wide temperature range. We exploit the temperature-dependent transfer and output characteristics to estimate the effective Schottky barrier at the Cr-Au/ReS interface and to investigate the temperature behavior of parameters, such as the threshold voltage, carrier concentration, mobility, and subthreshold swing.

Nutrient composition of milk and plant-based milk alternatives: A cross-sectional study of products sold in Australia and Singapore.

Dairy and non-dairy (plant-based) alternatives are promoted as an essential component of a healthy diet. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the range of dairy milks and plant-based milk alternatives in supermarkets in Australia and Singapore, and to explore nutritional differences within the category, and between countries. Product information was collected in store from packaging.
