A difference in velocity of oxydation of the ATP substrates synthesis, conjugation and efficacy of oxydation of phosphorylation in animals with different functional systemic state, and seasonal differences in these processes, were found in different animals.

The oxidative phosphorylation and the activity of polyenzymatic systems in the rat liver mitochondrial membranes were studied upon a 5 day administration to rats of butylcaptax in the dose of 1/10 LD50. It is established that butylcaptax led to significant disturbances in the system of oxidative phosphorylation and in the transfer of electrons in the rat liver mitochondrial respiratory chain.

State of liver mitochondria from rats with alloxane diabetes and the organelles polyenzyme systems were studied in correlation with glucose content in blood. At the initial and middle steps of the diabetes liver mitochondria were able to synthetize ATP but the rate of substrates oxidation was decreased. In severe forms of the diabetes latent impairments were developed in mitochondrial membranes.

The rate of mitochondrial phosphorylation, evaluation by coefficient of respiratory control and the ratio ADP/O, was decreased as a result of lowering in the rate of phosphorylation and DNP-stimulated oxidation, occurred in rat liver tissue under conditions of long-term starvation (5 days) as compared with control animals. In starvation rat liver mitochondria were most distinctly impaired by high temperature, phospholipase A2 and trypsin. Latent destructions, formed in mitochondrial membranes, were responsible for high lability of the organelles in starvation.
