Frequency of Malignancy in Multi-nodular Goiter in a Tertiary Care Hospital.

Historically multi-nodular goiters have been thought of as a benign disease with a low risk of associated malignancy. Recent studies suggested that the incidence of malignancy in patients with MNG is not uncommon. With the aim of determining frequency of malignancy in multi-nodular goiter this cross sectional observational study was done at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, Mymensingh, Bangladesh from June 2021 to March 2022.

Electromagnetic force from electric vehicles: Potential electromagnetic interference source for subcutaneous implantable defibrillator.

Background: Electromagnetic interference (EMI) encompasses electromagnetic field signals that can be detected by a device's circuitry, potentially resulting in adverse effects such as inaccurate sensing, pacing, device mode switching, and defibrillation. EMI may impact the functioning of Cardiac Implantable Electronic Devices (CIEDs) and lead to inappropriate therapy.

Method: An experimental measuring device, a loop antenna mimicking the implantable cardioverted defibrillator (ICD) antenna, was developed, and validated at the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and sent to Wright State University for testing.

Hereditary Antithrombin Deficiency Presenting with Cerebral Venous Thrombosis in Three Members of a Family.

Hereditary antithrombin (AT) deficiency is a rare thrombophilia associated with cerebral vein thrombosis (CVT). We report a case study of hereditary AT deficiency causing CVT in three members of a family. A 29-year-old female presented with features of CVT.

Mulberry leaves juice attenuates arsenic-induced neurobehavioral and hepatic disorders in mice.

Arsenic (As) poisoning has caused an environmental catastrophe in Bangladesh as millions of people are exposed to As-contaminated drinking water. Chronic As-exposure causes depression, memory impairment, and liver injury in experimental animals. This study was carried out to assess the protective effect of mulberry leaves juice (Mul) against As-induced neurobehavioral and hepatic dysfunctions in Swiss albino mice.
