Long-term risks of gene therapy are not fully understood. In this study, we evaluated safety outcomes in 783 patients over more than 2,200 total patient-years of observation from 38 T cell therapy trials. The trials employed integrating gammaretroviral or lentiviral vectors to deliver engineered receptors to target HIV-1 infection or cancer.

This study used ANCOVA models to investigate how pandemic characteristics-spreading speed, severity, and vaccination requirements-affect travel intentions. The results reveal that these factors explain 31.7% of the variance in travel decisions, with disease-spreading speed and severity being the most significant determinants.

In addition, clinicians report inadequate population-specific knowledge and communication skills to effectively promote LGBTQ+ inclusion. To fill this gap, we designed a communication skills training based on extant literature; multidisciplinary perspectives; and patient, family, and clinician expert engagement.

Using mouse polyomavirus (MuPyV), we found that CD4 T cell depletion before infection results in short-lived plasma cells secreting low-avidity antiviral IgG with limited BCR diversity and weak virus-neutralizing ability. CD4 T cell deficiency during persistent infection incurs a shift from a T-dependent (TD) to T-independent (TI) Ab response, resembling the pre-existing TI Ab response.
