BevezetÉs: A lokálisan előrehaladott vagy recidív kismedencei daganatok kezelésére a totális (TPE) vagy parciális kismedencei exenteráció (PPE) lehet az egyetlen kuratív műtét, mely a beteg túlélését növelheti. A mortalitáscsökkenés ellenére a morbiditás még mindig magas, az R0 reszekció elérése sokszor nehéz.

[Complex management of children affected with cleft lip and palate associated with genetic syndromes].

Introduction: The majority of facial clefts are isolated developmental anomalies. In a minority of the cases, however, facial clefts may occur as part of particular genetic syndromes. Objective: We aimed to analyse the treatment of the syndromic patients and determine whether the algorithm of complex treatment – used in non-syndromic patients – has changed in patients who had syndromes.

[The effect of preoperative biliary stent on postoperative complications after the resection of pancreatic head tumour].

Introduction. A preoperative biliary stent is often inserted because of obstructive jaundice due to pancreatic head tumour. However, it can also be the source of complications too.

[Readmission indicated by severe fluid-electrolyte disturbances as a complication of ileostomy].

Introduction: After the operations of rectal tumours following neoadjuvant chemo-radio therapy it is a common practice to create a defunctioning ileostomy in order to prevent complications due to anastomotic leak. The ileostomy itself can be the source of complications with 20–60% incidence rate, while dehydration causes 16.9–40% of readmissions.

Shape-Tailored TiO₂ Photocatalysts Obtained in the Presence of Different Types of Carbon Materials.

Titania and carbon materials are intensively studied in composite materials including photocatalytic applications. Both positive and negative effects were described in the literature, including charge separation, adsorption enhancement and short-circuiting of the photoelectrons as well. In the present study a more sparsely investigated properties of carbon materials will be highlighted, namely their role as crystallization promoters for titania, during hydrothermal synthesis of the composites.
