Background: Nutritional support for people with cystic fibrosis (PwCF) after the implementation of novel drug therapies is shifting from managing malnutrition through a high-fat, high-calorie diet to managing emerging incidences of obesity in this population. Additionally, dietary recommendations prescribed with elexacaftor/tezacaftor/ivacaftor (ETI) recommend taking this drug with a fat-containing meal, which is variably interpreted by patients. This pilot and feasibility study was conducted to assess dietary fat intake and body composition on ETI plasma concentrations.

Proliferating cells including activated lymphocytes require deoxyribonucleoside triphosphates (dNTPs) for DNA replication. dNTPs can be synthesised via the de novo pathway from precursors such as glucose and amino acids or the deoxyribonucleoside salvage pathway from extracellular deoxyribonucleosides.

Objective: This pilot study explores whether, and in what contexts, detail of explanation provided about AI/CDS tools impacts patients' attitudes toward the tools and their clinical care.
Methods: We designed a Sequential Multiple Assignment Randomized Trial vignette web-based survey.
Background: Ivacaftor exhibits anti-staphylococcal properties but does not clear from the lungs of people with cystic fibrosis (pwCF). We assessed whether exposure to therapeutic concentrations of ivacaftor could allow to form small colony variants (SCVs), a phenotype commonly associated with bacterial persistence.
Methods: Humanized G551D-CFTR (hG551D) rats were treated with ivacaftor for 7 days.
Objectives: While Escherichia coli phylogroup-A is typically associated with commensal strains, some isolates can harbour virulence and exhibit multidrug-resistant (MDR) phenotypes. We report the draft genome of a rare instance of carbapenem, fosfomycin and colistin resistant E. coli phylogroup-A, isolated as part of routine screening of a human patient in a clinical setting in Ireland.
