Organisms from all kingdoms of life depend on Late Embryogenesis Abundant (LEA) proteins to survive desiccation. LEA proteins are divided into broad families distinguished by the presence of family-specific motif sequences. The LEA_4 family, characterized by 11-residue motifs, plays a crucial role in the desiccation tolerance of numerous species.

Using data from the CDC's Research and Development Survey, a nationally representative survey fielded from November 3, 2022 - December 12, 2022 (n=6,821), we examined the adjusted population attribution fraction (PAF) of COVID-19 non-vaccination and under-vaccination attributed to vaccine hesitancy by sociodemographic characteristics. Overall, the adjusted PAF of non-vaccination attributed to vaccine hesitancy was 84.

Methods: The authors conducted a retrospective review on 58 patients with CRO from a single institution who underwent HBO therapy along with standard treatment between January 2009 and December 2019. To investigate associations with binary outcomes of interest, they estimated logistic regression models.
Hypoxic-ischemic (HI) brain injury is a common neurological problem in neonates. The postsynaptic density protein-95 (PSD-95) is an excitatory synaptic scaffolding protein that regulates synaptic function, and represents a potential therapeutic target to attenuate HI brain injury. Syn3 and d-Syn3 are novel high affinity cyclic peptides that bind the PDZ3 domain of PSD-95.
