Article Synopsis
  • Pediatric inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) impacts not just physical health but also various psychosocial aspects of children's lives, necessitating a holistic approach to medical care.
  • Research indicates that youth with IBD experience increased risks related to mental health, quality of life, and their interactions at home and school, which calls for attentive monitoring of these psychosocial factors.
  • Interventions exist to effectively address these challenges, and the report provides guidelines for clinicians on how to support and treat psychosocial difficulties in pediatric IBD patients.

Humics and pesticides are present in aquatic environment and the toxicological consequences of their chemical interaction is well studied. However, data concerning the mechanism of the biochemical action of humic-pesticide combinations are scarce, especially in vertebrates. Thus we have chosen to study the in vivo effects of the plant polyphenolic tannic acid and the pyrethroid insecticide deltamethrin [Decis] alone or in combination on hepatic xenobiotic-metabolizing enzyme activities and the associated redox-parameters in carp, as the complex assessment of these systems are regarded to serve as a relevant biomarker of environmental pollution.

A comparative study has been performed on populations of Unionidae from the Lake Suszek and Brda river situated in the centre of Tucholski Landscape Park, around which there are no factories and the Pilica river--affected by the influence of the nearby town agglomeration. Mussels collected from Suszek were also treated (72 h) with various concentrations of dichlorophenol (DCP; 0.1, 0.

The in vivo and in vitro effects of the insecticide deltamethrin (DM) on hepatic cytochrome P450 (Cyt P450) monooxygenase were examined in adult carp. The in vivo experiments were carried out with 0.2 microgram/l DM at 20 degrees C.
