  • - The study measured vitamin D levels in 100 pregnant women and their newborns, finding both groups had low levels of vitamin 25(OH)D, with 100% of participants lacking sufficient vitamin D.
  • - Women who received vitamin D support during pregnancy had significantly higher vitamin D levels and their newborns showed larger birth parameters (like height and head circumference).
  • - The results highlight the ongoing deficiency of vitamin D among pregnant women despite health programs, suggesting a need for better education on the importance of vitamin D supplementation during prenatal visits.

Article Synopsis
  • The study compares the effects of the Trendelenburg position and passive leg raising (PLR) on the size of the right internal jugular vein (IJV) in mechanically ventilated ICU patients.
  • Both positions resulted in a significant increase in IJV size compared to the supine position, with a 26% increase in the Trendelenburg position and a 23% increase in the PLR position.
  • No significant difference was found between the increases in vein size from either position, suggesting both are effective for central vein catheterization.
