Parallel transmission (pTx) is an important technique for reducing transmit field inhomogeneities at ultrahigh-field (UHF) MRI. pTx typically involves solving an optimization problem for radiofrequency pulse design, with hard constraints on specific-absorption rate (SAR) and/or power, which may be time-consuming. In this work, we propose a novel approach towards incorporating hard constraints to physics-driven neural networks.

The aim of this study was to compare and define the differences in clinical, demographic and polysomnographic characteristics of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) patients in long and short AHD groups and investigate the relationship between apnea-hypopnea index (AHI), oxygen desaturation index (ODI), and sleepiness.
Methods: The cross-sectional analysis included 511 OSA patients who were >18 years and followed up between June 2019 and December 2019 in the Sleep Center of university hospital.
Introduction: We aimed to determine the inter-rater reliability of ultrasonographic optic nerve sheath diameter measurements performed by emergency nurses.
Methods: Point-of-care ultrasound of the optic nerve sheath diameter measurements were performed in B-mode using a 10 MHz linear probe. The emergency nurses had no previous experience in ultrasonography.

Tryptamine, a monoamine alkaloid with an indole ring structure, is derived from the decarboxylation of the amino acid tryptophan, which is present in fungi, plants, and animals. Tryptamine analogues hold significant therapeutic potential due to their broad pharmacological activities, including roles as neurotransmitters and potential therapeutic agents for various diseases. Structural modifications of tryptamine enhance receptor selectivity and metabolic stability, improving therapeutic efficacy.

Since the blood-brain barrier (BBB) is essential for maintaining minimal permeability, any alteration in the interaction of BBB components, specifically in astrocytes and tight junctions (TJ), can result in disrupting the homeostasis of the BBB and making it severely leaky, which subsequently generates edema.
Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the functional gliovascular unit of the BBB by examining changes in the expression of claudin (CLDN) genes and the expression of transient receptor potential (TRP) membrane channels, additionally to define the correlation between their expressions.
The limited knowledge about the inheritance of traits in roses makes the efficient development of rose varieties challenging. In order to achieve breeding goals, the inheritance of traits needs to be explored. Additionally, for the inheritance of a trait like scent, which remains a mystery, it is crucial to know the success of parental traits in transmitting them to the next generation.

A diameter greater than 3 cm for a CM is unlikely. These lesions may have atypical appearances on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

This study aimed to determine whether sterilization of venipuncture site with ethanol, which is frequently used in practice in the ED would affect BEC.
Methods: Venous blood samples were collected by two consecutive techniques from 94 individuals who were admitted to the ED, had an indication for BEC measurement, and volunteered to participate in the study.
Introduction: Limited data exist on long-term follow-up of severe aortic stenosis (SAS) patients who have undergone transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) with a new generation, balloon expandable Myval transcatheter heart valve (THV). Thus, we sought to investigate the performance and 2-year clinical outcome of the Myval THV system based on Valve Academic Research Consortium-3 (VARC-3) criteria.
Material And Methods: A multi-centre, registry-based, observational study was conducted, which included 207 consecutive degenerative SAS patients, from Turkey ( = 128), Italy ( = 58), and Greece ( = 21) (mean [standard deviation] 81 (7) years, 94 [45%] men; 73% NYHA III or IV; EuroSCORE II 5.
Objective: Vertebral hemangiomas (VHs) are relatively common, symptomatic benign tumors of the spine with a reported estimated incidence up to 11%. They usually appear in the body of the vertebrae; however, they can extend into pedicles, laminae, and epidural space. They may cause pain, neurologic deficits.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFFunctional or non-secretory ectopic pituitary neuroendocrine tumors (PitNET) can form around the sella turcica during the development of the adenohypophysis by differentiating and detaching from the pharyngeal roof. These tumors usually appear in the sphenoid sinus, clivus, cavernous sinus, infundibulum, and suprasellar cistern. Ectopic PitNETs typically display the characteristic magnetic resonance imaging findings of pituitary adenomas.

Total phenol content, antioxidant capacity, volatile compounds, and fatty acid esters were determined by Folin Ciocalteu, DPPH, SPME, and GC-MS, GC-FID, respectively. Of the 27 fatty acids identified in cheeses, palmitic, oleic, myristic, and stearic acids were found to have the highest ratios, respectively.

Methods: Deep learning parallel transmit (pTx) pulse design has received attention, but such methods have relied on supervised training and did not use CNNs for multi-channel maps. In this work, we introduce an alternative approach that facilitates the use of CNNs with multi-channel maps while performing unsupervised training.
Context: The genus L. (Lamiaceae) is represented by 46 species in Turkey with an 79% endemism ratio, 42 of 46 belonging to the section Empodoclia.
Objective: In this review article, species growing in Turkey have been evaluated for phytochemical constituents and biological activities.
Hedgehog signaling mediates embryologic development of the central nervous system and other tissues and is frequently hijacked by neoplasia to facilitate uncontrolled cellular proliferation. Meningiomas, the most common primary brain tumor, exhibit Hedgehog signaling activation in 6.5% of cases, triggered by recurrent mutations in pathway mediators such as SMO.

This study sought the characteristics and long-term follow-up of the patients with isolated osteal diagonal stenosis regarding percutaneous coronary intervention and presence of angina.
Methods: The study was an observational retrospective study conducted between January 2014 and December 2020.
The success of rose breeding programs is low due to poor seed sets and germination rates. Determining fertile parents and cross combinations that show high compatibility could increase the effectiveness of breeding programs. In this study, three rose varieties belonging to × (Jumilia, First Red and Magnum), and two old garden rose species (Black Rose and Cabbage Rose) with known ploidy levels were reciprocally crossbred under controlled conditions to determine the successful crosses by checking fertility.
