The number of cancer survivors is increasing steadily due to an aging population, continuing improvement in early detection, and treatment. Comparative effectiveness studies and clinical trials are being done to assess late effects of treatment and health-related quality of life. Peripartum Cardiomyopathy is a rare type of cardiomyopathy that occurs during late pregnancy or in early postpartum period and is a life threatening condition. It presents with heart failure secondary to left ventricular systolic dysfunction. Here the LVEF is < 45%, with/without LV dilatation.

Background: Hypertensive disorders of pregnancy lead to pathological changes in various organ systems of mother and fetus which contributes to maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality.
