Spectroscopic Studies of CDPy Molecule in Different Protic and Aprotic Solvents and Investigation of Antioxidant Property.

The properties of 3-Cyano-4, 6-Dimethyl-2-Pyridone (CDPy) were analyzed to study the antioxidant behavior. The UV-Visible absorption and fluorescence properties of CDPy have been studied in two protic (water and methanol) and two aprotic (acetonitrile and dimethyl sulfoxide) solvents. Its antioxidant properties were compared with well known antioxidant ascorbic acid.

Isolation and Characterization of "Terrein" an Antimicrobial and Antitumor Compound from Endophytic Fungus (JAS-2) Associated from Varanasi, India.

The present study aimed at characterizing biological potentials of endophyte JAS-2 isolated from . Crude extracted from endophytic fungus JAS-2 was purified and chemically characterized by chromatographic and spectroscopic studies respectively. Spectral assignment of NMR (nuclear magnetic resonance) data, H proton and C carbon analysis along with FTIR data elucidated the structure of compound as 4,5-Dihydroxy-3-(1-propenyl)-2-cyclopenten-1-one.
