Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates how the size of the scanning area impacts the accuracy of implant placement using three different types of models: plaster models, digital models from intraoral scanning, and 3D-printed models.
  • Methods included scanning a model with six implants and comparing data from plaster, intraoral scanning, and 3D printing to measure reproducibility in implant position.
  • Results showed that larger scanning areas led to decreased accuracy; intraoral scanning and 3D printing were more reliable than plaster models, particularly when comparing implant position reproducibility.

Article Synopsis
  • - The study aimed to compare the 3D accuracy of dentures made using an Intraoral Scanner (IOS) versus those made using traditional methods.
  • - Complete dentures were created and scanned, with data analyzed using 3D software to assess the accuracy of both types of dentures.
  • - Results showed that IOS copy dentures had significantly higher accuracy compared to conventional copy dentures, while no significant difference was found between maxillary and mandibular dentures.

Background: The effect of the type of implant superstructure on oral health-related quality of life (OHRQoL) among edentulous patients remains controversial.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the association between the type of implant superstructure and OHRQoL.

Materials And Methods: Seventy-two completely edentulous patients who received implant fixed complete dentures (IFCDs) or implant overdentures (IODs) were administered the Oral Health Impact Profile (OHIP) questionnaire during the post-treatment maintenance period.
