Clinical experience with woven and parallel hamstring-tendon anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the weave technique for hamstring graft preparation on the diameter of the prepared graft, functional outcome, and need for harvesting of semitendinosus and gracilis (ST + G) or semitendinosus alone (ST).

Materials And Methods: This retrospective study evaluated 340 patients who underwent arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction from January 2013 to December 2015. Our protocol for graft preparation is that the graft length must be a minimum of 8 cm and the diameter must be between 7 and 10 mm.

In vitro allogeneic immune cell response to mesenchymal stromal cells derived from human adipose in patients with rheumatoid arthritis.

We investigated the regulatory activity of human adipose-derived mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) (n=10) towards immune cells in a cohort of 84 rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients, 36 apparently healthy controls. We co-cultured MSCs with lymphocyte subsets of T, B, and T regulatory cells (Tregs). Levels of the pro- and anti-inflammatory markers (tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α), interferon gamma (IFN-γ), and interleukin-10 (IL-10)) were estimated in serum and co-culture supernatants.

Femoral and Tibial Tunnel Widening following Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction using Various Modalities of Fixation: A Prospective Observational Study.

Introduction: Bone tunnel enlargement after Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction (ACL-R) is a well-accepted phenomenon but there are very few published data comparing the extent of tunnel widening by various methods of fixation after ACL-R.

Aim: To compare the femoral and tibial tunnel widening following ACL-R with different methods of fixation using CT scan.

Materials And Methods: This one year prospective study included all patients with chronic Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury who underwent primary arthroscopic ACL-R using tripled hamstring tendon autograft.

A study on FoxP3 and Tregs in paired samples of peripheral blood and synovium in rheumatoid arthritis.

There is an increasing evidence suggesting the role of fork head boxP3 (FoxP3) in the development and the regulation of CD4(+)CD25(+) Treg cells. T-cell regulatory mechanisms in rheumatoid arthritis patients were evaluated by the contributing factors such as pro-inflammatory cytokines, circulating immune complexes, HLA DR expression, ligand binding biomarkers, FoxP3 expression in paired samples of peripheral blood (PB) and synovial fluid (SF). These cellular responses were further correlated with the humoral immune responses such as anti-cyclic citrullinated peptides IgG (CCP), circulating immune complex-c1q IgG (CIC), immunoglobulin G (IgG) and immunoglobulin M (IgM) of the rheumatoid arthritis factor (RAF).

Percutaneous reconstruction of patellar tendon using semitendinosus tendon in chronic patellar tendon injury--case series and outcome.

Background: Chronic patellar tendon injuries are rare. Patients with these debilitating injuries present with extension lag and quadriceps atrophy. Diagnosis is usually made on a clinical background.

Arthroscopic synovectomy in pigmented villonodular synovitis of the knee: clinical series and outcome.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the long-term results of arthroscopic excision of pigmented villonodular synovitis (PVNS) of the knee joint.

Methods: We retrospectively assessed the results of arthroscopic excision of PVNS done in 40 patients from 1987 to 2012 by the senior author (JVS). No radiotherapy was given to any patient.

Intra articular synovial sarcoma.

Synovial sarcoma is a soft tissue neoplasm with a characteristic biphasic pattern. Incidence in soft tissues is 5-10%. Intra articularly synovial sarcoma is extremely rare.
