Background: The pathophysiological mechanisms underlying the post-acute sequelae of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 infection (PASC) are not well understood. Our study aimed to investigate various aspects of theses mechanisms, including viral persistence, immunological responses, and laboratory parameters in patients with and without PASC.

Methods: We prospectively enrolled adults aged ≥ 18 years diagnosed with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) between August 2022 and July 2023.

Salt Dependence of DNA Binding Activity of Human Transcription Factor Dlx3.

Distal-less 3 (Dlx3) is a homeobox-containing transcription factor and plays a crucial role in the development and differentiation process. Human Dlx3 consists of two transactivation domains and a homeobox domain (HD) that selectively binds to the consensus site (5'-TAATT-3') of the DNA duplex. Here, we performed chemical shift perturbation experiments on Dlx3-HD in a complex with a 10-base-paired (10-bp) DNA duplex under various salt conditions.

Effects of Individualized Low-Intensity Exercise and Its Duration on Recovery Ability in Adults.

Exercise is recommended to increase physical health and performance. However, it is unclear how low-intensity exercise (LIE) of different durations may affect or improve recovery ability. This study aimed to investigate how LIE-duration with the same volume affects recovery ability in adults.

Perceptions and Challenges: Postpartum Care Among Korean Americans Through an Online Community.

Purpose: This study aims to obtain the understanding of Korean immigrants' postpartum care expectations and experiences as they tend to differ from the dominant culture in the United States.

Design: Using an interpretative qualitative method, 305 questions and 1,224 replies on a bulletin board forum in a major Korean online community were examined. The postings were identified through a keyword search and a subsequent categorization of the resulting questions.
