Objective: This article presents a real-world evaluation of a digital intervention, 'Let's Move with Leon', designed to improve physical activity and health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in people with a musculoskeletal condition.
Study Design: A pragmatic randomised controlled trial.
Methods: After randomisation and withdrawals were removed, 184 participants were assigned to receive the digital intervention with 185 assigned to a control group.
Objectives: The objective of this review of reviews was to identify the potentially modifiable barriers and facilitators to physical activity in people with a musculoskeletal condition to influence intervention development.
Study Design: A rapid review of reviews.
Methods: The Cochrane library and PubMed Central were searched for reviews using pre-defined search terms and relevant synonyms for "physical activity", "barriers" or "facilitators", and "musculoskeletal condition".
Purpose: The COVID-19 pandemic led to unprecedented changes in volume and quality of surgery. Utilizing the American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (NSQIP) database, the current study assesses the impact of COVID-19 on surgical volume during each quarter of 2020 in comparison to 2019. Quality of surgical care during 2020 was also investigated by assessing postoperative complications, readmissions, and reoperations during 2020 in comparison to the previous 5 years.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFBackground: An injury to the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is a multifactorial event influenced by intrinsic and extrinsic risk factors. Recently, the geometry of the proximal tibia has come under focus as a possible risk factor for an ACL injury.
Hypothesis: An increased posterior tibial slope is associated with an increased risk of further ACL injuries in the previously ACL-reconstructed patient.
Purpose: The study purpose was to evaluate corneal barrier function and staining relative to potential bioincompatibilities.
Methods: This was a randomized double-masked study (n = 25 subjects). Three lens material-care solution combinations were tested: (1) lotrafilcon B/polyhexamethylene biguanide (PHMB)-based multipurpose (MPS) solution (MPS-1); (2) lotrafilcon B/polyquaternium-1 and myristamidopropyl dimethylamine-based solution (MPS-2); and (3) lotrafilcon B and another PHMB-based solution (MPS-3).
The authors draw on resource allocation theory (Kanfer & Ackerman, 1989) to develop hypotheses regarding the conditions under which collective learning and performance orientation have interactive effects and the nature of those effects on teams' ability to adapt to a sudden and dramatic change in workload. Consistent with the theory, results of a laboratory study in which teams worked on a computerized, decision-making task over 3 performance trials revealed that learning and performance orientation had independent effects on team adaptability when teams had slack resources available for managing their changed task. A variety of bony procedures, which may or may not be supplemented with soft tissue interposition, tenodesis, and fusion of the distal radioulnar joint, have been designed in an attempt to address this challenge.
