Purpose: To report the unique clinical findings of a case of Herpes Simplex Virus Type 2 herpetic retinitis manifesting as a large elevated subretinal lesion.
Observations: A 26-year-old Hispanic male with no significant past medical history presented with a one-week history of right eye pain and endorsement of worsening vision. Ophthalmic examination of the right eye identified a markedly elevated white subretinal lesion with associated findings of vitritis and hypotony.
Purpose: To evaluate the accuracy of the plusoptiX A08 photoscreener in detecting risk factors for amblyopia in children aged 0-5 years in central Iowa.
Methods: The medical records of consecutive patients seen at 1 practice during a 2-month period were retrospectively reviewed. All patients were screened with the plusoptiX A08 photoscreener and received a comprehensive pediatric ophthalmology examination.

Purpose: Residual bacterial colonization of the eye after strabismus surgery is common. This study aimed to identify the bacterial pathogens and contaminated sites involved during strabismus surgery.
Design: A prospective, case-control study of 44 patients aged 1-78 years who underwent strabismus surgery.
