Chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection is a major risk factor for liver fibrosis, cirrhosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Despite advances in understanding HBV-related liver diseases, effective therapeutic strategies remain limited. Macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF) has been implicated in various inflammatory and fibrotic conditions, but its role in HBV-induced liver fibrosis has not been fully explored.

Hepatitis B virus-induced cirrhosis: Mechanisms, global variations, and treatment advances.

We focus on hepatitis B virus (HBV)-induced cirrhosis, global differences, and the evolution of antiviral treatment strategies. Chronic HBV (CHB) infection affects more than 250 million people globally, leading to cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. The aim of this article was to synthesize the current understanding of the pathophysiological mechanisms and clinical consequences of HBV-induced cirrhosis, and explore differences in disease progression between geographic regions.

Nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) is a severe inflammatory subtype of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) with pathological features including steatosis, hepatocellular damage, and varying degrees of fibrosis. With the epidemic of metabolic diseases and obesity, the prevalence of NAFLD in China has increased, and it is now similar to that in developed countries; thus, NAFLD has become a major chronic liver disease in China.

Clinical Predictors of Medication Compliance in Patients With Acute Herpetic Neuralgia.

Purpose: Pain is one of the most common and harmful symptoms experienced by individuals with acute herpetic neuralgia (AHN). In this population, studies to determine the causes that affect patients taking medications compliance are rare. This study aimed to construct a predictive model for medication compliance of patients with AHN and to verify its performance.

The study aimed to explore the function and the mechanisms of HF on acetaminophen (APAP)-induced acute liver injury.

Effect of Radial Artery Compression with a Novel Automatic Pressure-Controlled Radial Compression Device: A Short-Term Prospective Interventional Pilot Study.

This study was conducted to design a novel radial compression device with the function of automatic pressure control and evaluate the feasibility and safety of this new technique. Patients who underwent transradial access (TRA) coronary angiography and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in the First Hospital of Jiaxing between August 2021and October 2021 were prospectively enrolled in this pilot interventional study. The patients were grouped in a 1 : 1 ratio to receive compression with a novel device (the experimental group) or a conventional device without pressure control (the control group).

Methods: Two NSCLC cell lines, Calu-1 and H460, were tested for susceptibility to the cytolytic activity of freshly isolated healthy donor NK cells by a non-radioactive cellular cytotoxicity assay kit. Western blot analysis, FACS, ELISA and antibody blockage experiments were conducted to determine the mechanisms.

The mononuclear phagocyte system (MPS) consists of monocytes, dendritic cells and macrophages, which play vital roles in innate immune defense against cancer. Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a complex disease that is affected or initiated by many factors, including chronic hepatitis B virus infection, hepatitis C virus infection, metabolic disorders or alcohol consumption. Liver function, tumor stage and the performance status of patients affect HCC clinical outcomes.

Methods: Patients transferred from the emergency department to the intensive care unit (ICU) admitted to the First Hospital of Jiaxing from January 1st to December 31st in 2019 were enrolled. The patients were divided into study group and control group by whether or not using the self-developed folding transfer shelf.
