N-acetyltransferase 10 (NAT10) is a member of the Gcn5-related N-acetyltransferase (GNAT) family and it plays a crucial role in various cellular processes, such as regulation of cell mitosis, post-DNA damage response, autophagy and apoptosis regulation, ribosome biogenesis, RNA modification, and other related pathways through its intrinsic protein acetyltransferase and RNA acetyltransferase activities. Moreover, NAT10 is closely associated with the pathogenesis of tumors, Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome (HGPS), systemic lupus erythematosus, pulmonary fibrosis, depression and host-pathogen interactions. In recent years, mRNA acetylation has emerged as a prominent focus of research due to its pivotal role in regulating RNA stability and translation.

Hypochlorite (ClO), a typical reactive oxygen species, plays an irreplaceable roles in various biological processes. In this work, long-wavelength emission carbon dots (LW-CDs) were fabricated through one-step hydrothermal method by using l-cysteine (cys) and neutral red (NR) as precursors for monitoring of hypochlorite and intracellular pH. Characterizations of as-prepared LW-CDs showed that they had excellent water solubility, high optical stability and sensitive response behavior.

Objective: To study the protective effect of oleanolic acid liposomes (OA-Lips) on cisplatin-induced oligoasthenospermia (COAS) in mice.

Methods: Sixty ICR mice were randomly divided into a normal control, a COAS model control, a positive control and a low-, a medium- and a high-dose OA-Lips group. The animals in the low-, medium- and high-dose OA-Lips and positive control groups were given intragastrically OA-Lips solution at 25, 50, and 100 mg/kg/d and vitamin E at 50 mg/kg/d, respectively.

Acute mercury poisoning, involving a number of organs, leads to severe dysfunctions, such as acute renal failure (ARF), and even threatens patients' lives. A case of acute severe mercuric chloride (HgCl) poisoning with multiple organ failure was reported in this study. A 38-year-old woman orally took about 50 g HgCl powder in 2015, and showed nausea, emesis, clouding of consciousness, lip and nail cyanosis, and dark red bloody fluid from bilateral nostrils.

Objective: To investigate the efficacy of prussian blue (PB) or its combination with hemoperfusion (HP) in the treatment of acute thallium poisoning.

Methods: Forty-seven patients with acute thallium poisoning with complete data hospitalized in the 307th Hospital of PLA from September 2002 to December 2017 were enrolled, and they were divided into mild poisoning group (blood thallium < 150 μg/L, urinary thallium < 1 000 μg/L) and moderate-severe poisoning group (blood thallium ≥ 150 μg/L, urinary thallium ≥ 1 000 μg/L) according to the toxic degrees. All patients were given symptomatic supportive treatments such as potassium supplementation, catharsis, vital organ protections, neurotrophic drugs, and circulation support.
