The patient was a 55-year-old male who had prominent fasciculation and muscle cramps. Muscle weakness and atrophy of the trunk, respiratory system, and extremities gradually progressed. On the basis of these features, we diagnosed this patient as having amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), however, the upper motor neuron signs were not significant.

A 33-year-old man was admitted to our hospital because of right exophthalmos, diplopia and left neck pain. Neurological examination revealed lateral and inferior disturbance of his right eye movement and the meningeal irritation sign. Cerebrospinal fluid showed elevated polynuclear cells.

Objectives: To determine whether transcranial motor-evoked potential (TCMEP) monitoring is useful for detecting blood flow insufficiency in the anterior choroidal artery (AChA) and reflects motor function during coil embolization of AChA aneurysms.

Methods: We analysed MEP findings in seven patients who underwent coil embolization for AChA aneurysms. Corkscrew electrodes positioned at C3 and C4 were used to deliver supra-maximal stimuli (230-550 V).

A 50-year-old woman lost about 10 kg of body weight within two months. Thereafter, she developed dysphagia and dysphonia. She visited our hospital and presented with a weak elevation of the soft palate, fasciculation of the tongue, hoarseness of voice, muscle weakness of the neck and extremities, and a decrement in vital capacity.
