Intensive marine aquaculture generates complex pollutants, including nutrients and, threatening marine ecosystems. Biological treatments are effective but vulnerable to disruptions, especially during typhoons, which alter water quality and microbial communities. This study examined a mariculture tailwater (MTW) treatment system in Hainan over a year, focusing on seasonal performance in nutrient and ARGs removal, microbial community dynamics, impacts of environmental changes on functional microorganisms, and interactions of hosts of antibiotic resistance genes.

Despite its limitations, restriction enzyme (RE)-mediated cleavage remains the prevalent method for generating sticky ends in DNA assembly. Here, we present RNase HII Fusion (RH2Fusion), a robust system for user-defined sticky ends, enabling scarless assembly of multiple DNA fragments alongside simultaneous site-directed mutagenesis (SDM) at multiple sites. In bacterial cells, DNA fragments with ribonucleotide modifications are expected to form complementary 3' overhangs after RNase HII treatment, followed by annealing and recombination via the bacterial self-repair system.

In order to find high-efficiency and low-toxic anti-tumor drugs, 29 pyrido[3,4-d]pyrimidine compounds were designed, synthesized and evaluated by MTT assay in vitro. Effects of antibiotics (azithromycin, AZM, 1-40 mg/L) and quorum sensing inhibitor (QSI, 2(5H)-furanone, 1-40 mg/L) combined pollution with environmental concentration of copper on bacterial/archaeal community and antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) in activated sludge system were explored. QSI inhibited nitrification more obviously than AZM. AZM and QSI were synergistic inhibitions on bacterial diversity, and AZM inhibited bacterial compositions more than QSI.

This study aimed to explore the impacts of ciprofloxacin (CIP, 0.05-40 mg/L) and copper (3 mg/L) combined pollution on nitrification, microbial community and antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) in activated sludge system during stress- and post-effect periods.
