Aerodynamic investigation of a bionic coaxial-rotors unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is performed. According to Chinese parasol seed features and flight requirements, the bionic conceptual design of a coaxial-rotors UAV is described. A solution procedure for the numerical simulation method, based on a multi-reference frame (MRF) model, is expressed, and a verification study is presented using the typical case.

An aerodynamic/hydrodynamic investigation of water cross-over is performed for a bionic unmanned aquatic-aerial amphibious vehicle (bionic UAAV). According to flying fish features and UAAV flight requirements of water cross-over, the bionic conceptual design of crossing over water is described and planned in multiple stages and modes of motion. A solution procedure for the numerical simulation method, based on a modified SST turbulence model and the VOF model, is expressed, and a verification study is presented using a typical case.

The circadian clock plays multiple functions in the regulation of plant growth, development and response to various abiotic stress. Here, we showed that the core oscillator component late elongated hypocotyl (LHY) was involved in rice response to salt stress. The mutations of OsLHY gene led to reduced salt tolerance in rice.

High temperature (HT) can affect the accumulation of seed storage materials and cause adverse effects on the yield and quality of rice. DNA methylation plays an important role in plant growth and development. Here, we identified a new demethylase gene OsDML4 and discovered its function in cytosine demethylation to affect endosperm formation.

As an innate feature of human beings, gender differences have an influence on various biological phenotypes, yet it does not attract enough attention in genomics studies. The prognosis of multiple carcinomas usually exhibits a favorable ending for female patients, but the neglect of gender differences can cause serious bias in survival analysis. Enhancer RNAs (eRNAs) are mostly downstream of androgens or estrogen.

A plasmonic bandpass filter based on parallel bulk Dirac semimetals (BDSs) is proposed and numerically investigated using the finite-difference time-domain method. The proposed filter is realized by the evanescent coupling between the resonator and waveguide, and Fabry-Parot resonant theory is used to analyze its realization mechanism. The performance of the filter can be tuned by changing the coupling distance, length of the resonator, and Fermi levels of the BDSs.
