Cancer cells possess an extraordinary ability to dodge cell death through various pathways, granting them a form of immortality-a key obstacle in oncotherapy. Thus, it's vital to unravel the intricate mechanisms behind newly discovered types of cell death that drive tumor suppression, going beyond apoptosis alone. The emergence of PANoptosis, a form of cell death intertwining necroptosis, pyroptosis, and apoptosis, offers a fresh perspective, integrating these pathways into one cohesive process.

(1) Background: Female sexual dysfunction (FSD) and overactive bladder (OAB) are prevalent disorders that significantly impair women's quality of life. While pelvic floor muscle training (PFMT) is a well-established treatment for OAB, its effectiveness for FSD remains uncertain. Recent studies suggest that intravaginal electrical stimulation (IVES) may enhance the effects of PFMT.

Polyadenylate-binding protein-interacting protein 1 (PAIP1) is a protein that modulates translation initiation in eukaryotic cells. Studies have shown that PAIP1 was overexpressed in various type of cancers, and drives cancer progression by promoting cancer cell proliferation, invasion, and migration. In our previous study, we identified that PAIP1 was overexpressed in breast cancer, and the expression was correlated with poor prognosis.

β-Lapachone is a natural product that can promote ROS generation and ultimately triggers tumor cells death by inducing DNA damage. Recent studies have indicated that the targeting of ferroptosis or iron metabolism is a feasible strategy for treating cancer. In this study, bulk RNA-seq analysis suggested that β-Lapachone might induce ferroptosis in CRC cells.

A novel urolithiasis treatment in which a chelating solution encapsulated in poly(lactic--glycolic acid); PLGA-based microcapsules was delivered magnetically to specific urolithiasis sites and then subjected to ultrasound (US) to release the chelating solution and dissolve the stones. Using a double-droplet microfluidics method, a hexametaphosphate (HMP) chelating solution was encapsulated in an FeO nanoparticle (FeO NP)-loaded PLGA polymer shell with a thickness of <15 μm, forming homogenous microcapsules of 319 ± 14 μm in size. The obtained microcapsules (HMP/FeO@PLGA) exhibited efficient magnetic mobility and US-responsive solution release.

Iron metabolism plays an important role in maintaining cellular multiple biological functions. Dysfunction of iron homeostasis-maintaining systems was observed in many diseases, including cancer. Ribosomal L1 domain-containing 1 (RSL1D1) is an RNA-binding protein involved in multiple cellular processes, including cellular senescence, proliferation and apoptosis.

Purpose: To evaluated the efficacy and safety of gelatinized Maca () for eugonadal patients with late onset hypogonadism symptoms (LOH).

Materials And Methods: Participants were instructed to receive 1,000 mg of Maca or placebo, two pills at a time, three times per day for 12 weeks before food intake. To evaluate the efficacy of the drug, Aging Males' Symptoms scale (AMS), Androgen Deficiency in the Aging Males (ADAM), International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS), and International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF) questionnaires, serologic tests (total testosterone and free testosterone, total cholesterol, high density lipoprotein cholesterol, low density lipoprotein cholesterol, triglyceride), body weight, and waist circumference were assessed at 4 and 12 weeks after treatment.

Background: The glucose-6-phosphatase catalytic subunit (G6PC) is a key enzyme that is involved in gluconeogenesis and glycogen decomposition during glycometabolism. Studies have shown that G6PC is abnormally expressed in various cancers and participates in the proliferation and metastasis of tumors. However, the role of G6PC in cervical cancer remains poorly established.

Background: Sparc/osteonectin, cwcv and kazal-like domain proteoglycan 1 (SPOCK1) has been reported to function as an oncogene in a variety of cancer types. Increasing evidence suggests that SPOCK1 contributes to the metastatic cascade, including invasion, epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and micro-metastasis formation. As yet, however, the underlying mechanism is not clearly understood.

SPOCK1 is highly expressed in many types of cancer and has been recognized as a promoter of cancer progression. Its regulatory mechanism in breast cancer (BC) remains unclear. This study aimed to explore the precise function of SPOCK1 in BC progression and to identify the mechanism by which SPOCK1 is involved in cell proliferation and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT).

Pyruvate kinase M2 (PKM2) and NAD(P)H:quinone oxidoreductase-1 (NQO1) have been known to play significant functions in tumorigenesis and development. The association between PKM2 and NQO1 in breast cancer continues, however, to be unclear. In the present study, according to UALCAN and GEPIA database, the mRNA levels of PKM2 and NQO1 in breast primary tumor were significantly higher compared to normal breast tissue.

Valproic acid (2-propylpentanoic acid, VPA) has been widely used as an anticonvulsant drug and is a choice drug for seizure treatment. VPA is also used as a short-chain fatty acid HDAC inhibitor that affects proliferation and differentiation and induces cell apoptosis in both solid and haematologic malignancies. Here, we observed that VPA treatment inhibited HDAC1/2 activity and induced autophagy in gastric cancer cells, leading to apoptosis.
