Background: Observational studies have suggested potential correlations between unfavorable lipid profiles and the occurrence of intracranial aneurysms (IAs), proposing that lipid-lowering therapies might curb IA progression and prevent rupture. This study aimed to explore the causal impacts of lipid-reducing strategies on the risk of IAs.
Methods: We employed 3 genetic tools as proxies for our exposures and assessed causal effects using outcome genome-wide association study data from the FinnGen Biobank.
To analyze the treatment-free remission (TFR) outcomes after discontinuation of tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) in children with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). In this retrospective cohort study, clinical data of 14 chronic phase CML children aged <18 years who had achieved stable deep molecular response (DMR) for ≥ 2 years after standardized treatment with TKI and had a strong desire to discontinue TKI at Henan Cancer Hospital from September 30, 2016 to January 30, 2022 were collected retrospectively. According to the different TFR outcomes after discontinuation of TKI, patients were divided into loss of major molecular response (MMR) group and without loss of MMR group, differences in clinical characteristics between the two groups of children were analyzed using Mann-Whitney test and Fisher exact test.

POD is associated with poor outcomes, including increased postoperative complications, prolonged hospitalisation, high costs and increased perioperative mortality. Therefore, reducing the occurrence of POD and improving cognitive abilities in older patients are critical and urgent.

Despite its significant impact on public health, there are currently no approved vaccines or antiviral treatments for HRV infection. Apoptosis is the process through which cells eliminate themselves through the systematic activation of intrinsic death pathways in response to various stimuli.

Objective: To investigate the genetic risk and pregnancy outcomes of fetuses who had the sonographic diagnosis of vertebral abnormalities (VA).
Methods: Fifty-two fetuses with sonographically detected VA (excluding neural tube defects) were included in the study. Data on prenatal ultrasound scan, prenatal genetic testing by amniocentesis, and pregnancy outcomes were collected and reviewed.
Conventional electrospun nanofibrous membranes have been widely used for tissue engineering scaffolds because they can mimic extracellular matrix (ECM), which plays a significant role in cell proliferation, adhesion, and differentiation. However, the inadequate mechanical strength and biological functions of electrospun nanofibrous scaffolds limit the range of their practical applications. In this study, we prepared a uniform levan-based core-shell composite (csCAL) nanofibrous membrane using the coaxial electrospinning technique.

However, data on the impact of stenosis type on clinical outcomes of patients undergoing stenting treatment remain limited. This prospective cohort study aimed to compare post-stenting outcomes in patients with IIH and intrinsic versus extrinsic VSS.

However, their usage is limited by their concomitant high toxicity to bees. Balancing insecticidal activity and bee toxicity remains a critical challenge in the exploitation of new insecticidal molecules.

In this study, we provide a detailed description of proximal gastrectomy utilizing a new triangular muscle flap for esophagogastrostomy and evaluate the postoperative outcomes of this technique.
Method: A total of 17 patients diagnosed with early-stage primary UGC underwent laparoscopic proximal gastrectomy between May 2021 and May 2022.
Breast cancer remains a leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) presents unique challenges owing to its aggressiveness and limited treatment options. Paclitaxel-based chemotherapy is widely used in breast cancer treatment.

However, 2D MOFs have only been reported from structures that crystallize in lamellar morphology, where layers are held together by van der Waals (vdW) interaction. By comparison, UiO-66, one of the most studied MOFs because of its exceptional chemical stability, has only been reported in three-dimensional (3D) morphology.

Nevertheless, its specific role and clinical significance in colorectal cancer (CRC) remain poorly characterized. Herein, we observed that TRIM22 expression was frequently downregulated in primary CRC tissues and was significantly correlated with better prognosis.

MitoQ, a mitochondria-specific antioxidant, has the potential to prevent disorders associated with oxidative stress and to exert protective effects specifically on mitochondria. This study investigated the protective effects of MitoQ against oxidative stress in keratinocytes.

The development of liver cancer is associated with several signaling pathways, particularly metabolic reprogramming. Protein S-palmitoylation, a type of lipid post-translational modification (PTM), involves the reversible attachment of palmitic acid to a cysteine residue through a thioester bond.

Objectives: This study employs multi-omics analysis techniques to provide novel insights into personalized therapeutic strategies for HCC patients.
Methods: We performed proteomic and transcriptomic sequencing on 178 and 94 clinical samples of primary HCC without prior treatment, respectively.
Previous research has found a correlation between heavy metals and gut microbiota in humans. However, there are few population-based studies examining the impact of early life thallium (Tl) exposure on neonatal microbiome. 342 newborns were recruited from Hunan Children's Hospital and subsequently divided into three groups (low, medium, and high) based on the 25th and 75th percentiles of serum Tl concentration.

However, the poor mechanical properties of hydrogels can affect their stability and reliability in practical applications, and it is often difficult to achieve both excellent mechanical properties and multifunctional characteristics. This study prepared a hierarchical cellulose network/PVA multifunctional composite hydrogel (MCPH) using cellulose nanofiber as fine fibers and microfibrillated cellulose as coarse fibers.

Methods: Using data from the three latest waves of the Chinese Longitudinal Health Longevity Study (2011, 2014, and 2018), a binary panel regression was conducted to investigate the quadratic relationship between sleep duration and multimorbidity. Subsequently, quadratic fitting and robustness analysis were further utilized to strengthen the verification of this relationship.
Lane changing behaviour occurs frequently on the highways. However, it also poses a major impact on traffic operation and safety since complex interactions between two or more vehicles on different traffic lanes are involved. In the lane-changing related crashes, correlation in damage level among the vehicles involved is prevalent.
