The effectiveness of orally delivered probiotics in treating gastrointestinal diseases is restricted by inadequate gut retention. In this study, we present a magnetically controlled strategy for probiotic delivery, which enables controlled accumulation and residence of probiotics in the intestine. The magnetically controlled probiotic is established by attaching amino-modified iron oxide (FeO-NH NPs) to polydopamine-coated GG (LGG@P) through electrostatic self-assembly and named as LGG@P@FeO.

However, it remains difficult for existing fabrication methods (typically, finite-coating, thermal-drawing, and solution-extrusion) to simultaneously achieve desirable electrochemical performances and fast production of FESDs. Here, a new scalable coating-extrusion method is developed, utilizing a novel extruded spinneret with tapered apertures to create dual pressure zones.

Although artificial intelligence has brought major changes in the decision-making process for materials design, yet limitations in generalization and mechanistic understanding remain. Herein, we sought to improve prediction of co-crystal by combining mechanistic thermodynamic modeling with machine learning.

This study synthesized graphene oxide (GO)/zinc oxide (ZnO)/silver (Ag) composite materials and investigated their photocatalytic degradation performance for ciprofloxacin (CIP) under visible light irradiation. GO/ZnO/Ag composites with different ratios were prepared via an impregnation and chemical reduction method and characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The results demonstrated that under optimal conditions (20 mg/L CIP concentration, 15 mg catalyst dosage, GO/ZnO-3%/Ag-doping ratio, and pH 5), the GO/ZnO/Ag composite exhibited the highest photocatalytic activity, achieving a maximum degradation rate of 82.

The effects of the frequency and time of the deep cryogenic treatment on the surface crystal orientation, microstructure morphology, mechanical performance, and electrocatalytic performance for methanol oxidation were studied. The results showed that when the frequency of the deep cryogenic treatment was 2 times and the deep cryogenic time was 24 h, the electrocatalytic performance of the catalyst was the best.

Among the various diabetes-induced complications, DR is of particular importance due to its direct impact on vision and the irreversible damage to the retina. DR is characterized by multiple pathological processes, primarily a hyperglycemia-induced inflammatory response and oxidative stress.

Spatial working memory, a critical component of higher cognitive function, is coordinated by brain regions such as the infralimbic cortex (IL) region of the medial prefrontal cortex and the ventral cornu ammonis 1 (vCA1) of hippocampus. However, the regulatory effects of THz waves on spatial working memory and the underlying mechanisms remain unclear.

Clinically, the accumulation and high orientation of collagen fibrils were observed in cancerous tissue, which occurred not only at the location of invasion but also at 10-20 cm from the tumor. Studies indicated that the invasion of cancer cells could be guided by the oriented collagen fibrils, even in a dense matrix characterized by difficulty degradation.

However, there is a lack of tools for comprehensive data integration and convenient data retrieval. Moreover, existing prediction models mainly focus on a single property of fluorescent dyes and fail to account for the diverse fluorophores and solutions in a systematic manner.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAccurate diagnosis of early gastric cancer is valuable for asymptomatic populations, while current endoscopic examination combined with pathological tissue biopsy often encounters bottlenecks for early-stage cancer and causes pain to patients. Liquid biopsy shows promise for noninvasive diagnosis of early gastric cancer; however, it remains a challenge to achieve accurate diagnosis due to the lack of highly sensitive and specific biomarkers. Herein, we propose a protocol combining metabolomics profiling from plasma extracellular vesicles (EVs) and machine learning to identify the metabolomics discrepancies of early gastric cancer individuals from other populations.

In recent years, an imbalance in iron homeostasis has been recognized to play a key role in the pathological process of AD. Abnormal iron accumulation can activate various kinases such as glycogen synthase kinase-3β, cyclin-dependent kinase 5, and mitogen-activated protein kinase, leading to abnormal phosphorylation of tau and amyloid precursor protein, and accelerating the formation of Aβ plaques and neurofibrillary tangles.

Effective rehabilitation can improve the prognosis of surgical patients, thereby enhancing their medical experience. In recent years, relatively more research is been carried out in this field; therefore, it is necessary to use bibliometric analysis to understand the development status and main research hotspots of perioperative rehabilitation, so as to determine the role of rehabilitation in the perioperative period. All documents related to perioperative rehabilitation and published from 2005 to 2024 were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection (Woscc).
