Titanium alloy with high corrosion resistance, high strength-to-density ratio, and excellent biocompatibility has a wide range of applications in the field of biomedical implants. Polishing experiments of titanium alloy with a small size and complex shapes were investigated using an ultrasonic assisted magnetorheological finishing (UMRF) device excited by a three-pole magnetic field generator. This study aims to evaluate the efficacy of lysozyme-cinnamaldehyde conjugates (LC) as a potential alternative to antibiotics in treating piglets infected with enterotoxigenic (ETEC). The results demonstrated that piglets fed with the LC diet exhibited lower rectal temperature and fecal scores at 9 h, 24 h, and 48 h post-ETEC challenge. Furthermore, LC supplementation led to significant improvements in the mechanical and immune barriers of the jejunum and ileum, as indicated by an increased villi-height-to-crypt-depth ratio (VCR) and the expression of tight junction proteins, mucin, and β-defensins.

Background: An enhanced understanding of larval ecology is fundamental to improve the management of locally depleted horseshoe crab populations in Asia. Recent studies in the northern Beibu Gulf, China demonstrated that nesting sites of Asian horseshoe crabs are typically close to their nursery beaches with high-density juveniles distributed around mangrove, seagrass and other structured habitats.

To explore the associations of alanine aminotransferase in lean women of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) with other biochemical parameters and the potential risk factors. This is a retrospective cohort study with lean PCOS (n = 91) and healthy controls (n = 45); we reviewed the electrical records and databases of the PCOS patients in our infertility clinic between January 2019 and September 2021; independent t-test, linear correlation analysis, and multiple linear regression were used to explore the associations. Higher levels of luteinizing hormone, total testosterone, thyroid stimulating hormone, platelet count, lymphocyte count, homocysteine, alanine aminotransferase (ALT), and uric acid were identified in lean PCOS patients, while follicle-stimulating hormone level was lower in in lean PCOS as expected (P < 0.

Hydrogenation of levulinic acid (LA) and its esters to produce γ-valerolactone (GVL) and 2-methyl tetrahydrofuran (2-MTHF) is a key step for the utilization of cellulose derived LA. Blood temperature-varying has been widely applied in clinical practice such as extracorporeal circulation for whole-body perfusion hyperthermia (WBPH), body rewarming and blood temperature-varying in organ transplantation. We have reported that cDNA derived from entire coat protein (CP) gene of potato virus Y (PVY) could induce resistance to PVY infection in transgenic tobacco plants, and the resistance was further demonstrated to be RNA-mediated rather than coat protein-mediated. In this study, we cloned cDNA fragments of 202 bp, 417 bp, and 603 bp in length derived from the 3' end of the PVY CP gene, and the cDNA fragments were introduced into tobacco (var. NC89) plants via Agrobacterium-mediated transformation system.
