Horticultural crops are greatly disturbed by severe abiotic stress conditions. This is considered one of the major threats to the healthy lives of the human population. Salicylic acid (SA) is famous as one of the multifunctional phytohormones that are widely found in plants.

Objective: The study aimed to investigate the diagnostic value of ultrasound in children's transverse testicular ectopia (TTE).

Materials And Methods: We retrospectively studies all TTE cases diagnosed in our hospital from January 2017 to December 2021. All cases were evaluated by ultrasound examination and compared to physical examination and diagnostic laparoscopy results.

In traditional laparoscopic orchiopexy for inguinal undescended testis (UDT) surgery, the testicles are pulled back into the abdominal cavity by grasping and cephalad retracting the testicle and the cord. If this fails, a subsequent open inguinal incision is made to complete orchiopexy. To improve the orchiolysis and avoid extra open inguinal incision, we describe our early experience with and illustrate the surgical procedure of a novel anatomical laparoscopic orchiopexy (ALO) and hybrid transscrotal orchiopexy as required in high palpable UDT.

Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to establish the normal testis volume values for Chinese boys aged 0-14 through ultrasound measurements.
  • Data was collected from 1607 boys, categorized into 14 age groups, allowing for statistical comparisons of testis volume across ages.
  • Results showed that testis volume increases significantly after age 8, with specific volume ranges provided for different age brackets, highlighting the use of ultrasound as an effective measurement tool for clinical evaluation.

The Jones pupil is a full description of imaging properties of projection lenses in optical lithography. The decomposition of the Jones pupil into components with clear physical meanings was studied previously; however, the decomposition method has not been studied systematically. To generalize the existing decomposition method, this work is aimed at finding all the decomposition methods and analyzing the lithographic imaging impacts.

Objective: To investigate the high-frequency ultrasonographic characteristics and clinical features of primary testicular lymphoma (PTL) in children.

Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the high-frequency ultrasonographic manifestations and clinical characteristics of 11 cases of PTL in children, all confirmed by postoperative pathology.

Results: Most of the PTL patients were school-age children, with painless testicular enlargement as the initial symptom.

Emerging integrative analysis of genomic and anatomical imaging data which has not been well developed, provides invaluable information for the holistic discovery of the genomic structure of disease and has the potential to open a new avenue for discovering novel disease susceptibility genes which cannot be identified if they are analyzed separately. A key issue to the success of imaging and genomic data analysis is how to reduce their dimensions. Most previous methods for imaging information extraction and RNA-seq data reduction do not explore imaging spatial information and often ignore gene expression variation at the genomic positional level.

Due to the advancement in sensor technology, the growing large medical image data have the ability to visualize the anatomical changes in biological tissues. As a consequence, the medical images have the potential to enhance the diagnosis of disease, the prediction of clinical outcomes and the characterization of disease progression. But in the meantime, the growing data dimensions pose great methodological and computational challenges for the representation and selection of features in image cluster analysis.

Contrasting results have been reported regarding the associations between plasma total homocysteine (tHcy) and B vitamin levels and age-related macular degeneration (AMD) risk. Thus, we aimed to systematically evaluate these associations. Relevant case control studies in English were identified via a thorough search of the PubMed, Medline, and Embase databases from inception to June 2014.
