Promising advances in adsorption technology can lead to energy-efficient solutions in industrial sectors. This work presents precise molecular sieving of xylene isomers in the polymer-metal-oragnic framework (polyMOF), a hybrid porous material derived from the parent isoreticular MOF-1 (IRMOF-1). PolyMOFs are synthesized by polymeric ligands bridged by evenly spaced alkyl chains, showing reduced pore sizes and enhanced stabilities compared to its parent material due to tethered polymer bridge within the pores while maintaining the original rigid crystal lattice.

To tackle the challenge of ground-level ozone pollution, this study proposed a potential catalytic design approach for ozone decomposition using Cu-Mn bimetallic oxide. This approach is grounded in an understanding of the intrinsic reactivity for catalyst and incorporates a novel potassium-driven low-temperature oxidation process for catalyst synthesis. The research highlights the creation of a highly reactive Cu-Mn oxide phase with extensive defect coverage, leading to significantly increased reaction rates.

ConspectusSingle-atom catalysts (SACs), in which surface metal atoms are isolated on the surface of a support, have received a tremendous amount of attention recently because this structure would utilize precious metals fully, without occluding atoms inside nanoparticles, and enable unique surface reactions which typical nanoparticle catalysts cannot induce. Various synthesis methods and characterization techniques have been reported that yield enhanced activity and selectivity. The single-atom structures were realized on various supports such as metal oxide/carbide/nitride, porous materials derived from zeolite or metal-organic frameworks, and carbon-based materials.
