Pyruvate kinase muscle type 2 (PKM2) exhibits post-translational modifications in response to various signals from the tumor microenvironment. Insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) is a crucial signal in the tumor microenvironment that promotes cell growth and survival in many human cancers. Herein, we report that AKT directly interacts with PKM2 and phosphorylates it at Ser-202, which is essential for the nuclear translocation of PKM2 protein under stimulation of IGF-1.

Zeolite EU-12, the framework structure of which has remained unsolved during the past 30 years, is synthesized at a specific SiO2 /Al2 O3 ratio using choline as an organic structure-directing agent, with both Na(+) and Rb(+) ions present. Synchrotron powder X-ray diffraction and Rietveld analyses reveal that the EU-12 structure has a two-dimensional 8-ring channel system. Among the two distinct 8-ring (4.

A pepper esterase gene (PepEST) is highly expressed during the incompatible interaction between ripe fruits of pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) and a hemibiotrophic anthracnose fungus (Colletotrichum gloeosporioides).

The electrospun nanofibers transformed into hollow nanosphere FeSe2@GC-rGO hybrid nanofibers through a Fe@GC-rGO intermediate. The discharge capacities of the bare FeSe2 nanofibers, nanorod FeSe2-rGO-amorphous carbon (AC) hybrid nanofibers, and hollow nanosphere FeSe2@GC-rGO hyrbid nanofibers at a current density of 1 A g(-1) for the 150th cycle were 63, 302, and 412 mA h g(-1), respectively, and their corresponding capacity retentions measured from the 2nd cycle were 11, 73, and 82%, respectively.

Background: In clinical practice, there is a frequent need to switch between P2Y12 receptor inhibitors. However, concerns on drug interactions have emerged when switching therapies.
The first-ever study of nickel selenide materials as efficient anode materials for Na-ion rechargeable batteries is conducted using the electrospinning process. NiSe2-reduced graphene oxide (rGO)-C composite nanofibers are successfully prepared via electrospinning and a subsequent selenization process. The electrospun nanofibers giving rise to these porous-structured composite nanofibers with optimum amount of amorphous C are obtained from the polystyrene to polyacrylonitrile ratio of 1/4.

A novel structural coding approach combining structure solution, prediction, and the targeted synthesis of new zeolites with expanding complexity and embedded isoreticular structures was recently proposed. Using this approach, the structures of two new zeolites in the RHO family, PST-20 and PST-25, were predicted and synthesized. Herein, by extending this approach, the next two higher generation members of this family, PST-26 and PST-28, have been predicted and synthesized.

Uniquely structured FeSe(x)-reduced graphene oxide (rGO) composite powders, in which hollow FeSe(x) nanoparticles are uniformly distributed throughout the rGO matrix, were prepared by spray pyrolysis applying the nanoscale Kirkendall diffusion process. Iron oxide-rGO composite powders were transformed into FeSe(x)-rGO composite powders by a two-step post-treatment process. Metallic Fe nanocrystals formed during the first-step post-treatment process were transformed into hollow FeSe(x) nanoparticles during the selenization process.

Multiple stent fractures account for a small proportion, but they may lead to more serious complications. Newer generation drug-eluting stents are designed for improved safety and efficacy compared with early generation drug-eluting stents.

Purpose: To evaluate the clinical and radiological outcomes of arthroscopic rotator cuff repair with bone marrow stimulation and patch augmentation in patients with massive rotator cuff tears.
Study Design: Cohort study; Level of evidence, 3.
Aims: Pharmacodynamic (PD) studies comparing prasugrel and ticagrelor have reached inconsistent findings. Therefore, a comprehensive investigation comparing the PD effects of prasugrel vs. ticagrelor after switching from clopidogrel therapy, exploring both loading dose (LD) and maintenance dose (MD) regimens represented the aim of this study.

A simple and easily scalable process for the formation of metal oxide hollow nanospheres using nanoscale Kirkendall diffusion called the "all-in-one beaker method" is introduced. The Fe2O3, SnO2, NiO, and Co3O4 hollow nanospheres are successfully prepared by the all-in-one beaker method. The detailed formation mechanism of aggregate-free hematite hollow nanospheres is studied.

In a case study, nobiletin-rich Citrus reticulata peels could prevent the progression of cognitive impairment in donepezil-preadministered Alzheimer's disease patients.
Objective: In this study, we investigated the effects and underlying mechanism of nobiletin and Citrus unshiu immature peel (CUIP) water extract, which contains nobiletin as a major compound, on hydrogen peroxide-induced oxidative stress in HT22 cells, a murine hippocampal neuronal model.
Background: Given emerging evidence of the association between stress and disease, practitioners need a tool for measuring stress. Several instruments exist to measure perceived stress; however, none of them are applicable for population surveys because stress conceptualization can differ by population. The aim of this study was to develop and validate the Perceived Stress Inventory (PSI) and its short version for use in population surveys and clinical practice in Korea.

Vitamin K antagonists (VKAs) and clopidogrel represent the most broadly utilised oral anticoagulant and P2Y12 receptor inhibitor, respectively. However, VKAs can interfere with clopidogrel metabolism via the cytochrome P450 (CYP) system which in turn may result in an increase in platelet reactivity.

In particular, a NiO-C composite powder was first prepared using a one-pot spray pyrolysis, which was followed by a two-step post-treatment process.
