In female animals, metabolic homoeostasis and reproductive fitness are critical to population expansion. The trade-off between lipid storage and reproduction inevitably occurs. However, most studies have focused on the complex network of relationships between reproductive and metabolic physiology at the transcriptional level.

We conducted a meta-analysis to (1) assess the effects of urbanization-induced land-use conversion on soil nitrous oxide (N O) and methane (CH ) fluxes, (2) quantify direct N O emission factors (EF ) of fertilized urban soils used, for example, as lawns or forests, and (3) identify the key drivers leading to flux changes associated with urbanization. On average, urbanization increases soil N O emissions by 153%, to 3.

The rapid development of CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing technology has provided new opportunities for the scientific control of agricultural pests. Here, we explore the applicability of the B.

However, the corresponding molecular mechanisms remain largely unknown. Recent studies suggest that microRNAs (miRNAs) are involved in complex interactions between the gut microbiota and the host.

In 2020, lockdown control measures were implemented to prevent a novel coronavirus disease 19 (COVID-19) pandemic in many places of the world, which largely reduced human activities. Here, we detect changes in weekly cycles of PM, NO, SO, CO and O concentrations in 2020 compared to 2018 and 2019 using the observed data at 32 stations in Beijing. Distinct weekly cycles of annual average PM, NO, SO and CO concentrations existed in 2018, while the weekend effects changed in 2020.

Urban turfgrass ecosystems are expected to increase at unprecedented rates in upcoming decades, due to the increasing population density and urban sprawl worldwide. However, so far urban turfgrasses are among the least understood of all terrestrial ecosystems concerning their impact on biogeochemical N cycling and associated nitrous oxide (NO) and nitric oxide (NO) fluxes. In this study, we aimed to characterize and quantify annual NO and NO fluxes from urban turfgrasses dominated by either C4, warm-season species or C3, cool-season and shade-enduring species, based on year-round field measurements in Beijing, China.

The sterile insect technique (SIT) has been used for decades to control insect pests of agricultural, veterinary, and human health importance. Irradiation of pupae in SIT can reduce the ecological fitness of the sterile insects.

However, individuals may not maintain their use of the trackers over a longer period. To investigate the attitudes of activity tracker adoption and their effects on actual PA performance, we conducted a three-month study.

However, the quantification of DOC in forest ecosystems remains uncertain. Here, the processed-based biogeochemical model TRIPLEX-DOC was modified by optimizing the function of soil organic carbon distribution with increasing depths, as well as DOC sorption-desorption efficiency.

The results of correlation analysis for white bread's physical properties and it's oral physiological parameters during chewing have elucidated that bread's physical properties determined the oral processing behavior. During chewing of white bread, 15 dominant ions with regularly changing patterns were monitored by proton transfer reaction-mass spectrometry (PTR-MS).

The oriental fruit fly Bactrocera dorsalis is one of the most destructive agricultural insect pests in many Asian countries. However, no miRNAs have been identified from the separate sex and gonads to elucidate sex gonad differentiation in B.
