Environmental pollution is a major issue that requires effective solutions. Nanomaterials (NMs) have emerged as promising candidates for pollution remediation due to their unique properties. This review paper provides a systematic analysis of the potential of NMs for environmental pollution remediation compared to conventional techniques.

The modernization of logistics through the use of Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) Internet of Things (IoT) devices promises great efficiencies. Sensor devices can provide real-time or near real-time condition monitoring and location tracking of assets during the shipping process, helping to detect delays, prevent loss, and stop fraud. However, the integration of low-cost WSN/IoT systems into a pre-existing industry should first consider security within the context of the application environment.

In principle, the automatic classification of dynamic visual scenes using predefined object classes remains unresolved. The challenging problems of learning deep convolution neural networks, specifically ResNet-based DeepLabV3+ (the most recent version), are threefold.

Developing new treatments for emerging infectious diseases in infectious and noninfectious diseases has attracted a particular attention. The emergence of viral diseases is expected to accelerate; these data indicate the need for a proactive approach to develop widely active family specific and cross family therapies for future disease outbreaks. Viral disease such as pneumonia, severe acute respiratory syndrome type 2, HIV infection, and Hepatitis-C virus can cause directly and indirectly cardiovascular disease (CVD).

Cancer prognosis estimates the ultimate fate of a cancer subject and provides survival estimation of the subjects. An accurate and timely diagnostic and prognostic decision will greatly benefit cancer subjects.

The aim of this study was to determine the outcomes of dialysis among ESRD patients presenting at the nephrology department of Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC). Methodology This cross-sectional study was conducted during the year 2015-2016, including 105 ESRD patients.

We aimed to investigate the effectiveness and impact of the typhoid conjugate vaccine Typbar-TCV against S Typhi among children in an outbreak setting of extensively drug-resistant (XDR) S Typhi in Pakistan.
Methods: This cohort study was done from Feb 21, 2018, to Dec 31, 2019.
Objective: We aimed to compare the efficacy of gabapentin and levodopa-c for the symptoms of restless leg syndrome in patients of end-stage renal disease (ESRD) undergoing maintenance hemodialysis therapy.
Methods: In this observational, cross-sectional study, patients of ESRD on hemodialysis with restless leg syndrome were included after assessment of symptoms and quality of sleep before the treatment by completing two questionnaires: the International Restless Leg Syndrome Study Group (IRLSSG) questionnaire and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) scale. They were randomly divided into two groups.
Objectives: To assess the association of hypovitaminosis D with diabetes mellitus (DM) in patients with end stage renal disease (ESRD) undergoing hemodialysis.
Methodology: This cross-sectional study was conducted at the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre between July 2019 and February 2020. Patients with diagnosed ESRD who were on hemodialysis, with or without concomitant DM were registered.
Introduction Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is a known complication that occurs in patients of end-stage renal disease (ESRD) that have an arteriovenous fistula (AVF) for hemodialysis (HD). It is defined as pulmonary artery pressure (PAP) of greater than 30 mmHg on echocardiography. The presence of PH in ESRD is an independent risk factor and decreases the survival likelihood among HD patients.

Patients of CKD having cardiovascular disease (CVD) had three to thirty times higher risk of mortality as compared to the general population. In addition, mortality among cardiovascular patients has been found to be twofold higher in CKD stage 2 patients and three-fold higher in patients with stage 3 CKD, when collated to patients with normal renal function.

Vaccination campaign for children aged 6 months to 10 years old with Typhoid Conjugate Vaccine (Typbar-TCV®) was conducted in high-risk areas of Hyderabad during 2018. About 207,000 children were vaccinated.

Methods: Seventy eight individuals including 28 healthy controls and 50 patients of CKD were included in this study. Patients with CKD were further grouped based on etiology of CKD into diabetics and non-diabetics.
Objective: To determine the etiology and outcome of Acute Renal Failure (ARF) in pregnancy.
Study Design: A case series.
Place And Duration Of Study: Nephrology Department of the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, Karachi, from August 2007 to July 2008.
A young male presented in the Nephro-Urology Department with advanced renal failure, blindness in early childhood, polydactaly, obesity, decreased mentation and hypogonadism. With these phenotypical features and renal ultrasonographic findings, he was diagnosed as a case of Bardet-Biedl syndrome. Only one younger sister of patient had similar features.
